I guess it's up to you, not as a moderator but because it's your run. I can't get the logic of replacing the WR with a slower time though, personally. If it were me I'd leave it
No that’s not common, and I wouldn’t recommend replacing your faster time with a slower one. That is just silly and doesn’t make sense. People don’t delete their PBs when a new and faster route comes along, they keep grinding until they beat their old ones.
If your time isn’t good and there is a better route out there, then beat your time with the new route. It may not be easy but removing the actual WR and adding a placeholder one is just odd.
There where times where i opted for a slower run over my PB due to me actually not liking the way the video turned out a example of that would be The Last Airbender for the DS with my PB being 1:19:06 but the one i submitted to the leader boards was 1:25:32 as my PB had really bad audio issues as the game was louder than my own voice kinda like having the TV on full blast in your ears. But i have never actually deleted a PB of mine in place of a slower run that i liked better but i was actually tempted once as i just did not like the run.
Yeah, this is kind of a ridiculous proposition.
Part of your responsibilities as a moderator is to make sure the stats for the game are being accurately tracked, and if you want to actively remove an existing WR and replace it with a worse run due to a subjective personal preference then yeah I can see why you've been accused of power abuse in the past.
Why did this 8 month old thread get bumped
And this is a non-issue today. OP improved the time to 20m56s 3 months ago. Good job!
