To be consistent with missions like Terran 3 in SC2 and the last Night Elf mission in W3 I don't feel it should be skipped. It's unfortunate that there's a big chunk of nap time in the middle of a run, but there's not really a good reason to skip it
I'm against this. Skipping the mission (1) devalues current runs, (2) is effectively cheating and not in the spirit of a full campaign speedrun, (3) cannot be associated with a single final time due to how end-mission triggers function (although to be fair, this is arguably negligible but still important to point out), (4) sets bad precedent for other missions with timer sequences (e.g. Zerg 9, BW Protoss 8).
I don't run the game but very interested in getting into it soon enough, But I would like to say that you effectively should not skip payable content because the content is timed. The equivalent to this for other games would be any auto scroller sequences as an example. The mission should be played because it effectively could be the make or break in a run if you don't last long enough on the mission to actually complete it. and it would technically break up the RTA unofficially because you'd be segmenting it with the removal of a mission that normally would be required to advance to the following mission.
Plenty of others reasons against skipping it that others have pointed out as well, which I agree on for the legitimacy sake or RTA / full runs in general.
I strongly disagree with allowing to skip any gameplay in a speedrun. Fallout 4 community already tried to do a similar thing and they ended up with a new subcategory, but luckily they kept "full any%" as the main one.
If you allow it, other communities might start doing the same, arguing that this community already does it.
No one but MrLlamaSC was for this so near unanimously the rules stay as they are: All missions in the campaign must be completed.
