Long, long back before I ever did anything here, I originally did many, many runs of Sword Master on the NES, but eventually dropped it for the sake of my hands.
In the more recent past, the closest I have for a main speedgame would have to be Rune Factory 1- I've spent more hours with that game than most people likely ever will at this point. While I still do stuff for it on occasion, the hand strain running of running it on hardware prompted me to start branching out as I have been doing of late.
I'm mostly aiming to bring life to games with smaller communities or neglected categories these days. That just so happens to come with the advantage of being able to use controllers that are much better on my hands.
Outside of the most recent two games I've picked up, I've lately had my eyes on the River City series and an unrelated obscure title I'm hoping to bring to the site soon. Yet, I'm always on the search, and that list is bound to grow. In fact, there's been one other run that's definitely been on my mind a lot of late, but learning it, let alone running it would prove quite a challenge...
I don't have a main game, but I tend to like games with glitchless single segment runs in the 40 minute-to-two hour range.
I started speedrunning for fun many years ago, especially with Resident Evil 2 on PSX because you got cool bonuses if you could finish the game fast enough. Now I'm playing Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare because it's a similar game but I can record it on PC in nice, compact 640x400 resolution.
This question Kinda puts me in awkward position after being made Star Control series mod though lol
It'll always be Monaco : What's Yours is mine , even if s leaning toward singpleayer speedruns instead of multiplayer speedruns the game remains, It got me into the hobby and I can still do it now- both for short hour before bed sessions and for heavy duty weekday evening grinds.
I'll hopefully finally get cracking on some WIP runs for my secondary games this month.
I loooooove the Star Control games. I've played SC2 on my 3do casually off and on for years. Currently running Gargoyle's Quest 2 for NES, and may run the rest of the trilogy after that......but man now I've got a serious urge for some SC2...and I've got a brand new controller for the 3do to play with and everything :)
Me, I'm a game hopper. I jump from game to game in search of the perfect speedgame. There are literally thousands of games to speedrun, yet I don't know where to land.
Well, my main speed game currently is Shrek the Third on PC. However, I have two other games I also currently run:
- My Little Pony Crystal Princess: Runaway Rainbow (GBA)
- Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (DS)
Other games I want to run but had to put off because of reasons:
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Xbox) [My current, leased laptop can't run the emulator needed properly).
- Winx Club (GBA) [Have other issues to worry about).
And I want more.
I'm speedrunning Celeste and Jump Rope Challenge (Yes lol) rn, as well as trying out some random runs just to try them out.
