Is there a specific reason that a timer is required to be shown in the video?
Edit: I'd also like to remind you that rejecting a run simply because it's obsolete is not a valid reject reason. Those runs still go on people's profiles to show their progress.
Edit 2: https://www.speedrun.com/moderationrules for reference. I suspect this will come up in this thread and I'd like to preemptively link them here.
I'm sorry I rejected so many runs for being obsolete, I wasn't thinking about how they go up on the profile and I thought they were just clutter.
And I really don't know who created that rule for the timer, I think it could have been sgitch, but no one in this server I know of really has that bad english.
@Habreno @Liv Looks like it has been a thing since the earliest days of the leaderboard. Audit log from the first encounter of rejection (because of no timer, even if there was no rule at that time against a timer) : 2016-11-12 16:00:54
I never understood why that rule was set. I've been accepting runs without timer anyways, even been taking my time to retime runs in Sony Vegas if I have seen anything too off.
I will take my time and retype the rules for each categories asap.
I already removed the live or edited rule. I just said we "encourage an on screen timer"
Also thanks Neiru for retyping the rules, didn't have time last night.
Edit: I read threw the rules and we need to work on a few things, will start doing these this weekend, I will also scan our rejected runs for obsolete, already reverified a few.
Having two different Any% categories was probably enough, but we've decided to make the latest patch available to run! Also, the way you submit runs that do or don't abuse lag/FPS strats should be more obvious now!
A few things to note though is that:
- 100% is a category that can ONLY be done on
