ah, for reference these 9 attempts were just in my latest grind. in total, I've had 18 attempts make it past the pole, in about 23 hours or so. I'm starting to lose track of the time :/ anyway, that kinda makes sense for the glitch. About saving 20s, do you clip directly into the room where you fall into lava? has anyone recorded this happening? i know you can get into the room right before jungle by clipping in the top right of this https://gyazo.com/af15e812f785ab1b62c99817101d0061 room.
yeah if you line up right you can fall down into the last jungle room. I've done it before, I'll see if I can dig up a clip

Yep, that's been known for a long time, it was used years ago in liopoil's old any% run on SDA. It's not really useful at all though.

right, there was a while many years ago before I found speedrun.com that I was just racing rabidjellyfish's SDA runs, where the categories where just like, "any%" and "no deaths all cats" and I didn't know about the glitch that lets you skip everything but I stumbled upon that factory glitch so used that. The speedrun.com categories are much better though

So many weird things can happen when attempting the oob glitch. Sometimes the game will get stuck flickering between two rooms and it will be impossible to move and you just have to restart. Sometimes it can loop you to the left (maybe not right away, but if you try to drop back down to try again you end up a room to the left). Probably other things too that I'm forgetting
I actually end up a room to the left very often when I attempt the oob, much more often than ending up a room to the right lol
I think the weirdest thing I've noticed doing oob is that sometimes you'll get left in what looks like a normal room, but when you try to leave you screenwrap, then if you try to leave again it works normally. sounds pretty similar to what you said but man I just don't know

yeah, it was actually like a double screenwrap notice that right when the glitch happens, I bounce off the wall and fall off-screen to the left, but instead of changing rooms I just die and you can see death sparks on the right side of the screen. I must have wrapped around to the right side and instantly died because I was in a wall. And then yea I wrap around again when I go up top. Just bizarre, no idea how these glitches work and no idea how best to cause them besides just flying at the corner. I'm not even sure what size of jump is best to use, they are all so inconsistent (in overworld or at the main glitch)
alright, I've officially burnt out. hope I can find the motivation to get back into it in a few months, but damn this skip is discouraging

Any plans to play some 100%?
Not really, all it really is is flying into the corner of a room so you basically enter multiple rooms at once, so the game gets confused and puts you in the wrong place.
I wasn't planning on doing 100% until after sub 2:30, but I guess I can learn the route for fun. We'll see how it goes. Also, if you have specific questions about oob we might be more likely to be able to answer it, but who knows with that glitch lol
The 100% wr is definitely the easiest one to beat, imo it was even before you smashed the other two. The clean sweep should be free for you!
I'm definitely too busy to grind cat planet right now, but I'm definitely hoping to come back and improve my times in a couple months. Maybe I'll be 3rd in every category by then!
