Declined runs

I have sorted my previous 2 runs out and submitted a new run on here but was told that moderators will only accept 1 hour runs as its average so if my new pb is 1:01:35.84 would that be excepted or do i have to do it sub 1 hour? This is for the mods to explain to me as i feel that rule may need to be added in so people don't feel like they are wasting your time?

Not a mod, but for Gless runs, you need to get sub 1 hr for it to be accepted. Also, I would suggest asking on the Discord for a faster answer.

Okay, I get what you're saying. I kind of wish there was some way to know the time limit before submitting the run (besides asking, that is), as I've had several runs rejected because of it.

speedrun.com is not only for good runs, it is to track your history as well. I don't believe there should be such a requirement. Clearly if you've had several runs rejected because of it, something is wrong with the verification process here.

Moderation rules state:

"A minimum effort requirement is reasonable. It is recommended to at a minimum accept a first playthrough done in one sitting with an intention of playing the category quickly." and "Runs that are clearly not making an effort to beat the game's category quickly may be rejected."

This allows mods to rejects runs that are obviously not trying to go fast or those that are way too bad. I do believe that 10 minutes off the WR is still not necessarily a terrible run (besides, you're, again based on the rules, not even obliged to thoroughly check through the bad runs), there definitely might be people who struggle with hitting the 1 hour mark.

Please, handle verification with a bit more leniency, this is awfully disruptive to the community.

You have to understand that 10 minutes of wr is a lot of time loss and sub one hour Gless can be achieved in two or Three runs. Also when we have 30/40+ runs in queue one hour is a long time to verify one run when someone else may have been grinding for months to get a better time. We as a mod community have decided that sub one hour takes minimum effort to achieve and therefore runs over one hour shall be invalid

United Kingdom

So if I'm like seconds away on and the load times taken off and it's just still over its invalid is what you are saying. I personally think you need to add that to the rules then so people are aware before submitting a run just so they don't waste your time as some people may not know that. But mind it's also on console no pc I submitted it on

Console doesn’t have a limit whereas pc if you where like 1:05:00 it would be rejected

As CreamSock said, our moderation team with knowledge of our game and how it works have decided that a Sub 1 hour gless run is the bare minimum. I can understand if you are frustrated with the difficulty of shaving off time, and to amend this, I will be publishing a gless guide later today about how to improve your time and pathing. You have to research a run first and practice a lot before you can make your first attempt. Thank you.

But if you look in your discord group I was told my console time should of been accepted

Yeah, what I said in discord was true your run won't be declined unless you did a glitch on accident.

Also I think there is a bit of confusion here, the run I declined was declined for not being a twitch highlight. Unless someone else had declined a run of yours before I did, as long as the run is highlighted it should be fine

yeah the 1st 2 I did were declined because of the no highlight which i did not know about but the 3 one i did got declined even though it was highlighted. And all my runs have me glitchless no glitches at all as i did the glitchless no s&q section. Thats what ive been saying but that got declined because it was over a hour but its not a pc run its a ps4 console run. Thats what ive been saying this whole time thats why im confused on it.

@CreamSock "Also when we have 30/40+ runs in queue one hour is a long time to verify one run" - as I've already said, you literally don't have to thoroughly verify the run. Read the moderation rules, please.

I can admit that getting a sub 1 hour run is an easy task, for someone who's been in speedrunning or at least has the time to check other runs, strats, etc. (I personally did get sub 53 in a few attempts, doesn't mean others have the same amount of time to do multiple runs or do research) Trying to go fast without actually knowing the most optimal strats is not something that should be necessarily banned from the leaderboards. And again, there are people who will simply not be capable of achieving much better times.

As for "our moderation team have decided", leaderboards are owned by the community, not by the moderators. Moderators are the people who should unite the community, not disrupt it.

"leaderboards are owned by the community, not by the moderators. Moderators are the people who should unite the community, not disrupt it"

There has not been a major consensus or calling for our 1 hour rule to be changed. As long as this has been a rule, the majority of the people who have complained is undeniably outweighed by those who have not. As for not having to "thoroughly verifying the run", that is not how we personally do things due to the nature of the game. You could look away for 5 seconds and it make the difference of a run being verified or not.

"It is generally left to the moderators to determine a necessary level of scrutiny for a run"

@Mason Is this sub hour for console or for pc or for all the sections (meaning the glitcheless s&q section etc.) this is now what I want to know because if its all I feel it does need to be mentioned in the rules just to clarify this before people waste moderators time.

@DukesOfHorror

Our time requirements only apply to PC and are as follows any% - 10m all chapters - 20m gless - 1h no oob - 45m hundo - 50m wb any% - 8m wb ac - 10m wb gless - 36m wb no oob - 25m wb hundo - 20m gless s&q- 55m gless hundo- 1:05 wb gless s&q- 33m wb gless hundo- 40m

So my last one that got declined was declined because it was over a hour but wasn't on pc so should of been approved so I'm expecting this this one to be approved which I have put in as all my runs I have put through have be console and the last one was declined by quiv even though it says in the name glitcheless no s+q main game ps4 @Mason

@DukesOfHorror As long as it falls under the time or is a console run and doesn't violate any other rules it shall be approved.

right ok so this need to be mentioned to your other mods to make sure they look at what platform its being played on (not a dig at you guys at all you all do a great job). I understand you guys behind the scenes all have jobs aswell and take time out of your own day to do this but i know the run i did was valid but i understand and many thanks @Mason

Maryland, USA

@DukesOfHorror It is currently being discussed about how to make these rules clear. Thank you for your understanding.
