Does it need to be a WR time?

Hi all, Really super noob here. I was just curious, in order to submit a play does it have to be a WR time, top 10, or something? Or can just anybody submit any run for any game regardless of how long it took them to run it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Definitely not! A run is a run, doesn't matter if it's a WR or not Look at Odyssey as a example, way over 1000 runs just in Any% never were even close to WR! Yet they submitted it and there's nothing wrong to it!

Thanks for the help. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't gonna bother the mods by submitting a run that wasn't going to qualify. Thanks again!

Not at all, we encourage less than WR runners to submit, keeps it competitive and interesting!

I know for some communities, they have prerequisites for submitting to their board, among other things. I think for certain Pokemon games, you need to be part of the PSR discord (don't quote me on that), along with some other things depending on their community and leaderboard. You can usually search up the game and figure out the rules for submission and categories!

Hope this helps!

The Pokemon community doesn’t have any rules listed that you need to be in their discord to submit runs (granted I only checked a few of the more popular games), and honestly, no game should reject a run for that reason.

If a community is rejecting runs from people who aren’t involved in the community in some way, that’s grounds to report the mods to site staff imo. No mods should be that exclusive, it would stifle any new people from submitting runs if they think the mods only accept runs from people they know/recognize.

That being said, some games have emulator specific rules or specific rules regarding video proof so make sure to follow those rules before submitting.
