Why is 100% Glitchless a Misc. run?

So, still getting used to things here at Speedrun.com, but I noticed something odd after my 100% glitchless run was verified: It didn't show up on my runs page. After looking around a bit, I clicked the "show misc" tab and there it was. Which made me a tad confused. We have a couple redundant categories, all marbles and all bosses, that are listed as main and yet have no runs (and I personally question their existence as categories, but hey, maybe someone can explain it to me), but... 100% Glitchless IS a Misc though. At least by my logic, a 100% glitchless run shouldn't really be a Misc. category kind of run. After all, it's playing the game as intended. My question I present is really: why is this the case?

I've been wondering this myself. I especially don't understand the all marbles category. The all bosses is pretty much an Any% without skipping the ENTIRE game so that makes sense. (Though this game nearly requires you 100% it to complete it anyway lol) But I don't see how all marbles is different from 100%. Unless I'm missing something, for 100% you need all udders and all marbles. It would make a lot more sense to me if beating the game wasn't required, and it was simply getting all 1000 marbles, as this would open up some alternate routing. Otherwise it seems to me like just an identical 100% category.

All marbles is definitely very different from 100%. Beating the game 100% requires the following:

  • 74 Udders (All 74 needed to enter Kim under normal circumstances)
  • 1000 Marbles (950 needed for entering Bob)

Outside of opening the Kim boss fight, the udders are only used for entering the various hubs. If you only take into account Kim Early (See Any%), you would only need 50 udders (To open Fantasy. You'd skip all udders in Fantasy and get most of the udders in the previous 3 hubs).

However, you can also enter all 4 hubs early without the udders:

  • Memory / Happiness:
  • Fear / Fantasy Early:

Which means that all Marbles at bare minimum only needs the 1000 marbles, all 74 udders can be skipped. You can also perform Kim Skip in this category (although the execution of this skip hasn't been done RTA as far as I know), and you wouldn't have to fight every boss.

As for all bosses, as of right now, it's just 950 marbles to enter Bob (defeating Psycrow/Roswell/Monkey for a head too), then doing Kim Early and beating Kim (Primary difference between this and all Marbles being the bosses & lower marble count and the requirement of beating Kim). If a Bob Early was found in the future, the marble requirement would be cut down to 131 (To open Lord of the fries, which is required for Fatty Roswell Early).

  • Roswell Early:
  • PMFAH Early: Bob Early would also likely mean Psycrow Early and Roswell early w/out LOTF.

Oh I see, I wasn't aware of all the different skips besides early Kim. Makes a lot more sense now. Though I'd also personally prefer 100% glitchless not be a misc. category, but that's not a big deal.

Thanks for the explanation, very helpful :)

Are those tricks still N64-only as the title implies?

Yes because they involve a trick called a "walljump" which can only be executed on N64

So, how would I get some official voting going for switching the 100% glitchless to a main category? And perhaps having the All Bosses and All Marbles categories switched to Misc considering they're a little obscure and there doesn't seem to be any runs on here. I'd also like to welcome competition against my time. It's easily beatable, especially with how much faffing I did about in world 1.

All Bosses has a pending run (and is an amazingly fun category tbh. Fantastic pacing) :P
