Hello! I'm starting on SpeedRuning, and I want to run Pokemon Stadium, the problem is, right now I can't buy a Video Game Recorder like Elgato or any other. So, my question is, Can I record a Run with a camera pointing at the TV? Sorry for my bad english!!

Sure, a camera is perfectly fine! Just be sure that you can see the full screen and audio if possible, not required but helps when people accuse you of cheating

You also can look for some old capture devices. I have a HDPVR Gaming Edition (ver.1 ) from Hauppauge and it should work, when your TV has the connection for it. I wanted to sell mine but others on ebay sold them very cheap. the only problem is, that the output on the PC is delayed, so its not good for streaming with voice. I mean you can have luck to find some preowned.

Something like this (although not necessarily this specific one) would probably be the cheapest option if you can make it work for you. I used to use one for NES runs, and even though the quality wasn't HD, it worked for what I needed.

Good luck on your runs!

GV-USB2 is $30, friend.

That's because the console can't output at HD resolutions. the console outputs at SD, ergo PAL or NTSC(-J) and composite is terrible quality compared to HDMI anyway, if you have a GV-USB2 or a 10$ knock-off, it doesn't really matter.

I experienced one big problem with these USB Things: Delay. Sure when you split the signal, than the delay at your pc dosen't matter. Getting a RCA Splitter, should solve this problem.
