Streaming and livesplit problem :(

Hi,

I recently bought a PC and a capture card. I’m trying to stream my speedruns from my Nintendo Switch, but there’s a problem: I want to see my splits (LiveSplit) while running, but if I look at the PC display, there is a slight delay of the gameplay. If I stream and look at the Nintendo Switch output, there is no delay, but I won’t be able to see how my splits are doing. I’ve thought of watching my own stream on another device, but that’s quite unhandy. Does anyone now a good solution for this?

I'm assuming you only have one monitor/TV and that's why you can't just have both up. In which case, the best solution would be to get a second monitor, play off the Switch output on one monitor, and have LiveSplit up on the other monitor.

Should also be noted that USB HD capture cards have a delay which is impossible to remove due to the connection standard. If you really wanted to remove it you would have to purchase something like an Elgato HD60 Pro which is a PCI-E capture card and much more expensive that your average usb capture card.

@Lonne You can get USB 3.0 capture cards with negligible delay. I use an Elgato HD60s and play directly off my game feed. I'm not a super good judge of input lag (and probably have a much higher tolerance for it than many), but I've played on TVs that felt worse than that.

I stand corrected. USB 3.0 capture cards is something I havent really used so I was making an assumption. Good to know for the future!
