Both these shows have awkward, crazy, and messed up humor. It's some of the hardest I've laughed while watching a show. Can anyone suggest some shows that fit this kind of humor?
Have you watched Two Broke Girls? That's one of my personal favorite sitcoms.
I just feel like laugh tracks are a means to tell the viewer when he/she should laugh instead of them deciding for themselves. It's like the show isn't confident enough in itself to know that it's funny so it puts in laugh tracks after every sentence to give a false impression that what was just said was in some way comedy. It's like McDonalds putting a label on their burger wrappers saying "very good food" in an attempt to trick the consumer.
Well actually some of the older sitcoms with tracks. It's actually not a recorded sounds, back then sitcoms were like live performances if I"m not correct. It's not like this huge showing but it was like a very small group of people. Hell, where do you think they got the first laugh tracks.
That's some interesting bit of history. I guess it makes sense when you think about it.
I just hate it when every 10 seconds there's another laugh track. It doesn't allow you to process the joke for yourself. It's intrusive and annoying. It might've been real in the past but now it's just a way to push lazily written jokes.
If you liked The Office I recommend Parks and Recreation, it has the exact same humor.
@SpookySpeedruns I've watched 5 seasons of Parks and Rec. Couldn't finish it. I couldn't care about the characters like I could in The Office. It had it's good parts but overall it is not on the same level as The Office.
