Hey everyone! I've been meaning to get started with speedrunning for quite a while now. It's actually something I really would love to do! I watch speedruns a lot in my free time including the gdq's. Does anyone, new or veteran, have any tips or tricks into getting started? I'm not sure which game to start with, or how to even start once I've picked one. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any suggestions would be awesome and greatly appreciated! Thanks all and happy speedrunning! :D

A tip I have is to pick a game you like, a game you can play over and over again. You should also practice this game, specifically the hardest levels/tricks (if there are any).

Are there any that you (or anyone) can recommend? Any that you think are fun to learn or good to start out on? I have a hard time narrowing and picking the right one to start with

Yeah Glory_Seeker that's what I'm hoping for. This is something I'm finally taking a leap towards and am serious about doing. I wanna have like a good group of positive and supportive people who wanna just speedrun and have a good time! Goals!

I've always like to run Mario games, specifically New Super Mario Bros Wii, Ninjabread Man was pretty fun to run as well, it's short, under 4 minutes for any% and under 12 for no major skips, Space Chimps was also pretty fun as well.
