Hey, I just got into speed running today. I've always been interested in it but never knew where to start. So I came here and decided to make an account. I have a few questions:
How do I submit a time.
Do I have to stream it or do I just have to record it?
And what tips do you have for me to get into speed running?

You have to select a game using the search bar. Then find the category you want and there will be a button on the top right corner "Submit a run" then fill this form. If the game isn't on speedrun.com database, you can request it using this form : http://www.speedrun.com/requestgame
Speedrun.com supports Twitch highlights and YouTube videos (I think Niconico videos aswell but I am not sure) so you can just record it.
Tips : Speedrun for fun, speedrunning is not something to became crazy about. Choose your tools wisely, streaming tools, timers ... etc are very important. You can speedrun ANY game, I recommend you to choose a game that you might still enjoy after a thousands of resets.

Thanks! And also, I have a mac and I can't seem to find any timesplitting software. The only one I found was Time Split Tracker and that doesn't seem to work. Is there anything else, or is there a way to get time split tracker to work?
