So I want to get into the LoZ series, not on speedrunning stand point, just a casual stand point.

What game should I start with or what game do you recommend and why? I can do anything except snes and nes.

As long as you don't start with Zelda 2.... I mean, personnaly, i really like the game, it's good, but it's really hard.

I think A Link To The Past would be a good one to start with, and then any of the 3D ones (OoT, Majora's Mask, Twillight Princess... Skyward Sword, as long as you like motion controls).

If you can get the recent ones, A Link Between Worlds is really cool too imo, but at the same time it's a sequel to A Link To The Past, so i'd recommend to start with that one first.

Wind Waker is in my opinion the worst 3D Zelda game and one of the worst overall. I find it to be extremely slow paced and not very fun or engaging. I wouldn't recommend that to be your first Zelda game as it's not indicative of the other amazing titles in the series.

I second the recommendation for A Link to the Past - it's got a good difficulty curve, excellent gameplay and is very fun to explore. Definitely a game I wish I could play for the first time again.

Well since my favorite is A Link to the Past, i have to say go for it :p (SNES version > GBA version) But i love a lot of them, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time are both reaaaally good, but i'm not sure if MM would be as great as a first Zelda game...

I find Wind Waker great, but as Tim said, really slow and a quest later in the game takes ages...

You can still try out Link's Awakening and/or Minish Cap :D

A Link to the Past is my recommendation for a Zelda newcomer. It is the perfect Zelda game in my opinion.

A Link Between Worlds is great, too, but I would recommend beating ALttP first if you can manage it.

Ocarina of Time is always a good bet. It is worth at least one playthough. The 3DS version has some QoL improvements, but any version is fine.

Wind Waker is fun if you like to get immersed into a game world. I always found it relaxing to just sail across the sea. It's a very "artsy" kind of game. Wii U version is probably better since it cuts out some filler that was tedious in the original GCN version.

I find Zelda 1 a lot of fun, but the old school difficulty might turn some people off. I recommend using a map/guide, even on a first playthough.

I can't really speak for the other games since I haven't played them as much.
