Hi! I'd like to request mod status for https://www.speedrun.com/ju-on . I submitted a run 3 weeks ago and it has not yet been verified. I attempted offsite contact (twitter) with the mod and got no response. They appear to have last logged in 8 months ago.
@tfresh2000 Series moderators do not automatically get to moderate every game in their series just because of them being a series moderator. They moderate the series as a whole, not necessarily the games within. It's kinda like how site staff might moderate the site (in our various forms), but we're not moderators for every game on the site. That would be crazy, having site staff moderate every single game on sr.c, no? Same thing on a smaller scale for series moderators.
We aren't going to grant moderator to someone who has not run the game. That's how it is. We are aware that the game has no moderators at this point in time. But at the same time, there also currently is no reason for a moderator to be on that game, as there are no runs pending verification for it. If the situation changes, then we'll look into it again.
As a side note, I would also like to remind you that discussions are supposed to be between the requester and site staff only. I'm replying to you to clarify a bit: just like site staff do not necessarily moderate every game on sr.c , a series mod does not necessarily moderate every game in the series.

@Philpa - @Jabro is not inactive. That said, your run has been pending for a while. I will see what I can do regarding contacting them. EDIT: Tweeted at them myself, will see what happens. EDIT2: @olo_ili logged on to verify the runs. Surprise to me, but hey, works out. They also promoted you to super on the board.
Hi, I submitted a run nine days ago for Bloons Tower Defense 4, Track 6 on Easy. I just today noticed that the two moderators have not logged in for months (one for three months, the other for just one). I tried messaging them on twitter but they have blocked messages to their account. If someone could help me with this that would be much appreciated, thank you!
@NeGAtiv4k - They still hadn't logged on, run's pending over a week, handled.

EDIT: I took the liberty of reaching out to one of the moderators just to be proactive. They came on to handle the runs. :)

@Habreno I added another line of communication per your recommendation, easy enough. I don't really agree with any of your other stances. What does it matter if I have a run in the queue or not? Maybe I have a vod with a pb (I do btw), but never bothered to edit it because the current mods have been gone for months? It's silly to me that the current and former WR holder that are active on SRC are considered not good enough to be added on to mod the board, but the person that has a 6yr old run, was not on SRC for 8months, does not know the current strats or glitches and only verified the runs (I'd put money down didn't watch a single one) with mod intervention since he never acknowledged my tweet which @ him is acceptable.
He and the other guy can keep their swords if that is what they want, but there will be more runs coming. This game is currently a part of a 20 game race with a fair amount of runners. I'm personally not looking for more work, but I like to keep boards up to date especially ones I put some effort into the game. If not Floatious or I then someone that is active on SRC please.
@SubStylee - Before I get into the rest of this, as @Habreno already pointed out @charleon is now active and verifying runs (and is evidently contactable, as we were able to get in touch with them), so if you have any issues with the current moderation or would like more moderators added to that game, please direct that to them.

This is the best way for you to show that you are an active runner of the game, and that the moderator(s) are not verifying runs. When we make moderation changes, we want to replace inactive people with active people, which is why, as stated in the first post of this thread, a pending run is usually a requirement for us to make a change.

Yeah... no. To put it bluntly, if you put in minimal effort to make your case, we're gonna put in minimal effort to help you. In a situation with an inactive moderator that you wish to replace, and you have a run video that you're holding onto, submit it and you'll have a leg to stand on. Not bothering to do that before reaching out to us just deadlocks the situation in a way that doesn't help you at all, and wastes our time.

No one said either of you were "not good enough". @Habreno did say that @Floatious would need to make the request themselves if they wished to be added (I see no indication of this from them personally), which is also stated in the first post of this thread. Also, we also don't particularly care if somebody is (or was) the WR holder, as that has no bearing on their effectiveness as a moderator.
But again, @charleon is now active and verifying runs, so please direct any further moderation queries to them.
hello, i submitted a run for The Blackout Club which is only about a day old, however the rules say i have to wait 21 days until trying to contact the mod, who has been offline for over four months and twitter/twitch is not accessible, so if i have to wait 20 more days, i don’t mind

I'm a very active runner of The Last Guardian, and I've tried to contact the mods (in fact, I know Satsu is Japanese and I speak Japanese, so I wrote to him in both languages to make it easier for him), but no one is answering. I'm already on the leaderboards, so I'm chiming in per "If a game's moderators are highly inactive (have not logged on in three or more months) and not responding to off-site contact, and you have a run already on the boards, you may request moderation of the game without a pending run." I'd love to moderate this game to begin with just in general, but I'd also like to add a category, and both satsu and papertwo have been inactive for months (even on social media, let alone on here). Papertwo hasn't shown any activity in the game for years now. Could I mod up, please? Thanks so much! (Happy to copy/paste the Japanese/English contact here to show what I said if you need it!)

Hello - I would like to become a moderator for Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? Treasures of Knowledge. I submitted two runs to the board three months ago and the only moderator for the game has never been online to verify the entire time. I contacted the moderator on the social media linked to his profile three weeks after I submitted the second run and have still not received a response. I know I don't have an already verified run in the game, but that would have been difficult to obtain considering the only moderator for the game has been AWOL for three months.
