Possible Story Fight Skips

So its possible to skip some fights in story mode by mashing the start button on the controller. Which can save minutes on a single story. This can be accomplished by mashing the start button on a controller. You will know the glitch is working when you will be able to see some of the background art fade in a little, then blackout, then background art fade in, and so on until you enter into a fight that won't let you skip. I know this works on PC, going to test if it works on console soon.

Here is a video of just some of the timing that I got doing the Start Skip Glitch. There is a 5 frame difference from when you press the ok button to pressing the start button.

If the game does not let you perform the glitch you might have to uninstall Skullgirls, delete the Skullgirls save folder, and reinstall Skullgirls.

There are couple items that issues that are trying to be worked out. First is that there are some points that if the start skip gets abused it can cause the game to crash. Second is that there are ways to prevent this by just skipping cutscenes calmly and continuing with certain fight however there is a chance that the credits after the Marie fight can soft-lock. Which is okay for IL's since its past Marie's death (or other characters death) when time stops but presents a problem if one wants to do a full story run or original story run. I will try to provide data to when you can and can use the glitch.

I will continue to collect data and hopefully provide solutions to some of the problems listed above. Any help or questions are welcome.

Hopefully I can provide more data soon. Cheers.

Update: Been doing some tests on what triggers this glitch, with different controllers and different situations presented. Unfortunately not only does it seem to work for one certain type of controller, PS4, but also that the glitch only works because of a program, DS4, that I use that makes the computer think that the PS4 controller is an Xbox 360 controller (cause there are lots of games out there that only recognized the Xbox controllers).

I am unsure if this can be used at all for speedrunning, even in its own category not only because of the very specific hardware but mainly that the cause of this glitch is a result from a program outside of the game. As far as I can think about this right now is that it seems like this glitch is invalid because it only happens with a program outside the game itself. I just need a little bit of verification just to make sure that reasoning is correct.

As far as I'm aware, the game supports basically any controller natively, so you're likely giving double inputs with your setup. Could be possible to do the glitch with two input devices if that is the case.
