Good mic to speedrun

What do you guys use for a mic? I'm looking for something "best for buck", don't really need super sound quality, just low noise.

There's just so many mics there it's hard to pick one. Half of reviewers say it has superb quality and the other half say it has bad quality :)

England

The blue yeti is the cream of the crop but if you don't have the money, get a snowball or a Samson meteor.

Netherlands

Blue Yeti is nice, but there are things that offer the same quality. My recommendations are Samson Meteor, Samson C01U, Blue Snowball/Nessie.

England

I agree. In the case of the Samson Meteor, it provides exactly the same quality as the Yeti, but at half the price. The only reason I have a Yeti is because my Meteor stopped working the day after I bought it, and didn't want to risk the same thing happening again somewhere down the line. So I just grabbed a Yeti for peace of mind.

@AndehX Mine is still working! I can confirm it's not a defunct product :p.

The Blue Snowball is basically the be-all-end-all when it comes to affordable desk microphones. I've had mine a few years now, and it's never been anything but good. It's simple and portable enough to go wherever you need to go with it, it's got a small footprint while being sturdy as hell, and the sound quality is good enough to record vocals on.

United States

I'd also have to recommend the Blue Snowball. I've had zero issues setting it up and getting it synced with the rest of my stream, and the quality is much higher than anything I had before. Price isn't bad at all for what you get for it.

It was just a joke :)
