I figured I'd ask...does installing an SSD make a difference for this game? For the PS3? Do any PS3 runners play with SSD and notice a difference? I'm just curious if I should invest in something like that for my PS3 or if it really won't make a difference for this game.
It will speed up load times, but the IGT doesn't count load times. So it will only make a difference to RTA.

Right. So I have spoken to a number of people who wish to run this game but are struggling with the PS3 emu as it is so CPU heavy. Perhaps the time is ripe to re-open the discussion of board separation? The GC emu is a much better alternative for a lot of people, but they simply do not wish to run a version that is by default significantly slower. This game has been dead in the water for way too long, this could be an opportunity to bring in more active players.
honestly this games only hope to be very active is improvements in the PS3 emulator....because of door skip and accessibility. The only other version is backwards compatibility with new X-Box's. At would not shock me if this keeps up with the emulator (not door skip), but so far I have not seen anyone test it
@Symm The PS4 version is actually an emulated PS2 version, so technically it falls under SD Console. On top of that the PS4 version is much worse than the PS2 version it actually emulates. Bottom line PS4 is the last console you want to use unfortunately.
Dolphin is a good alternative if the PS3 emu is giving you trouble - it will be slower by default but at least you’re not going up against the PS3 version now. Hopefully somebody is actively working on the PS3 emu because it’s complete ass atm
