Well, the thread is called "Feedback thread" so I will post here my feedback. Overall the site is great. It's a wonderful place to track your and your friends' times for various games and franchises. Also you can have a great conversation on the forum and the community of speedrun.com is great. Of course there were some bugs seen by me, but they were fixed by administration of the site very fast. (looks like Pac speedruns this site Kappa). You can track streams of the "Streams" page, you can setup your profile (and make it unique and completely hard to watch at), this is what I dreamed of. Thank you for this site, I'll be here because it's great.

Greetings,

I have three pieces of feedback:

 1. The game list on the frontpage is huge. Both in amount of games and how much space the pictures take up on screen (that's a big one), and does not have titles included in them. It can be really hard to find the one specific game you look for, if you don't necessarily know that it's inside some specific "series". Overall either a search function or displaying the titles so I could search for them via CTRL + F would be great => I'd prefer it by a large margin if the list looked like the one on the dropdown

 2. The list is... split? It seems really weird to me, that there is the category "other". I have no idea what the idea behind that is without an explanation and I can't quite see why it would not be on the first page (aside from the obvious, the list could be too large.. But you could sort that by letter?) => Search function?

 3. I like the site overall => Good job ^^

The only real thing I have to say is that it would be nice to delete games as supermod.

Nothing I really hate, but when I'm on the GTA:SA forum for example, there doesn't seem to be a way to get to the other GTA forums/section directly from there. But maybe I'm missing it.

First of all, I'd like to say that I do like this site. I like the idea of it and for it being as new as it is, it's pretty great. But I do have some gripes..

 1. The front page shouldn't be laid out like that. I'd keep it very simple to start. As mentioned above, the pictures are too huge. As the site grows and more games are added, this will simply be too unwieldy. There should be a second page that lists games in some kind of order. e.g. most popular, alphabetically, etc, but the front page just seems too cluttered.

 2. I had no idea separate game forums exists. I assumed they were all under a blanket "series" and finding it took many trips to this site. Now that I found it, I'm very glad it's there but it wasn't very intuitive.

 3. I do like the idea of the pictures in general. For instance, the game covers on each page work really well.

EDIT: After thinking a little more, I don't think the pictures on the front page are actually a bad thing. I'd just change it so you only have a block of 4 or 8 or something of the most popular games and then have everything else under an "other" section, kind of like what you do now but I'd move more there.

I agree on the front page stuff people have brought up. Ages ago it used to have nothing on it though, and you had to get to the games through the menu at the top. It does need some sorting out though (some games don't even have icons which is a pain).

@Yagamoth: All the games you can see by looking at the games menu are different series (as in they have more than one game) while the "other" category is for games that are single. I don't mind this but it can be hard to find games as the site gets bigger. We really need a search function; Pac could even just botch something together using Google for a start.

Not sure where to post this, so I will post it here.

When you change the background of your profile page, the background is only changed for the case sensitive version of your page. For example my page, I have a specific background for /user/Tyr_1 but if i go to /user/tyr_1 it's blank. Not sure if this is intended or not, and it is very minor, but if it is possible to make it consistent that would be great.

In themes, setting the cell transparency also changes the top menu.

This makes the games list hard to use
I want to check the "Talk","Grand Theft Auto series" and "Grand Theft Auto III" subforums. What i'd like to do is open up these three subforums in three seperate tabs by pressing the middle mouse button while hovering over them and close the original tab. What happens though is that i press the middle mouse button for the "Talk" sub-forum and it opens a new tab like it should but the original tab also opens up the "Talk" forum and doesn't stay on the forum selection.
This is hugely annoying and should be top priority IMO

When I click on "Other series" in the Games popup, I would expect another list of game series, but they seem to be individual games. Maybe "Other games" would be a better label, since they are not actually series (at least not on this site).

For the front page, maybe there could also be a short explanation of what this website actually is, since probably more and more people will find this who are new to speedrunning as the site gets bigger. Maybe also a seperate "FAQ" or "About" page that explains a few basics. Maybe with links to other relevant websites.

Something that doesn't seem very important right now, but what could be useful, is a forum search feature.

Why is there a TAS on here? I feel like this is a mistake http://www.speedrun.com/oao#any%_PSX_Single_Segment

You should probably start checking that people who want to make/run leaderboards are trustworthy and that their community is fine with it, since it seems to have been an issue lately

I hope that this website can get better because it is a really great idea, there are just some problems like these that are hindering it in my opinion

Tiny little gripe: Win is annoying. Winter, Windows 7, Winning a race, Winston Churchill, etc.

I know the W has to be capitalized and winter works fine but when you want to capitalize the W you're forced not to, e.g. windows 7, I would like to write Windows 7 without it looking stupid.

That being said, I love that you can use Twitch emotes. It would be nice if there was a little emote icon that opens up a menu like most forums have so you can see what kind of options you have, because right now I think the only way to find out is to Kappa FrankerZ Kreygasm SwiftRage PogChamp LilZ :P :) :D :( D: :'( :/ OneHand and figure it out that way.

Edit: Nice LilZ is there, so I guess ZreknarF too?

Bismuth, that happens because, as I'm sure you've guessed, the site reads from an API to get the Twitch emoticons, global and subscriber.

Unfortunately, though, whoever is in charge of approving sub emoticons at Twitch thought it would be a good idea to approve ones with codes like "double", "US", and "Win" FailFish

I have a short array of blocked Twitch emoticons, so I just added "Win" to it. Let me know if you find any others.

To everybody else, thanks for your comments so far; I will be taking them all on board.

Reactions on runs. For example when you click on a run and then you see the run first and when you scroll down you can see reactions on the run

You mean comments? Yeah, that's something I definitely want to add soon.

I was also thinking of allowing people to "Like" runs, but that might be a little too... Facebooky? I don't know, I'll have a think about it.
