Anyone have any experience with these by chance?

I'm looking at getting this one because I need not only HDMI recording, but also VGA recording.

I pretty bad at messing with my tower, so I'm sure it'll take forever to figure out how to put in, but I know I got the room and capability, I'm just not sure if I should be looking at something a little more high end. (Hoping not, as I don't want to spend 500 bucks on it, but will if necessary).

Blackmagic as a whole company has really pulled themselves up in the last five or so years - they are now pretty solid for their price point. They used to cause more issues than they were worth.

Hardware wise, they are solid as a rock. You are very unlikely to have that card break on you.

Software wise, you just need to make sure that you are running the (usually latest) most stable drivers for your card and equipment. Again, their software and BlackMagic Video has been getting better over the last couple of years, but many of the issue that can occur with these cards is when it choses to not find a particular thing in the software. Being an installed card though, this is far less common than their USB/external cards.

You do NOT need to purchase anything more than this thing, they have breakout cables for all the inputs and outputs you would need for a basic consumer. I have used them in broadcasting editing capture machines and these cards have been very stable.

Thanks. I was about to take the plunge thinking no one may have messed with them, but this puts my mind a little bit at ease for sure. Will likely go with this as soon as money allows, and once I get it set up (which... hopefully I do successfully), I will report back and let people know how it goes.

In the meantime my GTX 770 has been acting up something horrible, so hopefully I can get that fixed beforehand and not have to worry about it. If not though, I think my comp will be a lot happier using the capture card and then just using the GPU to stream.
