.> I dislike remote hosts because they tend to be pretty expensive for decent servers, If you got a good net and can get a second pc to use and leave on, you can always set up your own and do all the work. Tho most people either don't know how or want to deal with the amount of work required so they are willing to pay for servers.

Check on google I'm sure you'll find some decent hosts but here are some I can suggest that my Guild has used; https://www.gameservers.com/ - Variety of servers with flexibility. https://www.vilayer.com/ - Some what cheaper hosting based on slot sizes. http://www.fragnet.net/ - More known then other unmentioned.

you can compare others and the ones mentioned here: https://comparegamehosting.com/

Good luck, hosting / running servers is a big time commitment much like speedrunning but also a money investment.

I'm hosting Garry's Mod servers on Soyoustart Game servers, and it works perfectly for my needs. Soyoustart is a cheaper branch of OVH.

I would advise against hosting a game server at home. Sooner or latter someone is going to send a DDoS attack your way, especially in gaming communities. The day that happen not only your server will be down but your whole internet as well.
