I don't see a point on need to record a video of me trying to beat a map or a record,it can take hours of practice and playing. For level runs it should be allowed screenshots.

Hey JayKay! Good point -- that makes a lot of sense. However, videos are necessary to avoid cheating. Anyone could submit a high score screenshot they found online, or photoshop numbers into one level from another. I also think videos are more fun to watch and engage potential runners.

Here's an example where video might matter. Imagine if this leaderboard had 50 players, all with great high scores, and then someone out of nowhere posts a world record and they've never played before. It would be best to have a full video recording for verification.

Hopefully this is sensible to you and other players. In my experience moderating mobile speedruns, I think this is the best option.

Is it still held true to this day? i have a multitude of runs on screenshots that would beat the WRs for ILs, none on video sadly...

Yeah no screenshots allowed. Video proof only. If you're interested in learning how to record, pop on over to the mobile speedrunning discord!
