Hi I've just decided to start speedrunning and decided to start with new super mario bros. Afterr playing for a while im confident im gonna stick with it and continue speedrunning and i was wondering if i could get any advice on how i should go about recording the game on the ds

You could get a capture card, but those cost a lot of money, so you could find a way to point another type of camera at your ds. If you have a cell phone, you can save up space to record, and put it on lower quality so it does not use much data.

Is there no way to connect it to the computer or something like that? If not ill just have to go with using my phone, just seems really awkward to set up

Get a DS capture card. They're about 130 dollars but it is worth it. Another great thing is if you ever want to run any other DS or GBA games then you're all set.

You can buy a webcam for pretty cheap and plug it in to your computer so you don't have to use your phone. You can also buy a capture card for about $50 if you already have an original DS and install the board yourself (not too hard) from http://3dscapture.com/ds/order.html . If you don't already have an original DS or don't want to install it yourself, it will cost more.

Oh a webcam! I hadnt thought of that, sounds alot easier to set up ill probably try that out, thanks. Im running any%. Im only 2 days in and already having alot of fun with it, but still cant finish a run haha! World 8 kills me so much i keep getting game over.

if ur set on using ur phone to record u can use an app on android called ip webcam

I mean i was struggling to think of how to set my phone up to record but i think im gonna buy a webcam in the end, seems alot easier
