  1. There is no "official" manager for world records, but it is definitely the most used leaderboard site, and is where accurate world record information can be found.
  2. Times under 5:21 need video.

  1. All times below 5:21 need a video. A 4:56 is WAY below the threshold, so it would need a recording.
  2. Yes, but it is a 458 from a few years ago by andrewg.
  3. Not nesecarrily. One website could be considered unlegitamite and unreliable, and to have false information. Speedrun.com is very well trusted, and the mods work hard to protect against cheated runs. The only record run considered legitimate currently is 456.528 by darbian.

  1. Afaik it is, I don't play SMW, but I know some of the mods and runners there, and all of them are extremely reliable and trusted.
  2. Yes, darbian is the record holder.
  3. Of course, that is just common sense that something illegitimate would be invalid.

If we are not reasonably certain that a run is legitimate, we will reject the run and it will not show up on our leaderboards. We do have runs submitted from time to time. Examples are: TAS runs, spliced runs and people taking someone else's run and submitting it as their own. Also, if the rules are not followed, we are free to reject those as well.
