Separate PC Version and PS2 (or Console) Version and what are different Categories.

hello, I would like to propose something since I was looking at other leaderboards of other games, and I would like to know why at least in the GTA: SA leaderboard they haven't done it yet; and it is the fact of separating for example in the Leaderboard of Any%, NMG, ASM and 100%, the PC and PS2 versions (I would say Console Version, instead of PS2 Version but there are small differences between the Xbox version and PS2, such as loading times, apart from the fact that from what I understand the Xbox version is based more on the Steam version), since I consider that there are currently many more differences between both versions, and I understand that maybe not It's done because there's little demand for console speedruns, but still, I think it wouldn't hurt to "leave the door open" or the possibilities open to anyone who's interested, as I was looking at last time some other console runner, and I think it would not be bad, apart from the fact that in other Leadeboards despite the fact that there are few console runners, they still have their separate category because there is a lot of difference between the PC version and its Console version; and it is known that the PC and PS2 versions are very different, and more so now with everything that is being discovered in Any%, in the Console version you cannot pause buffering, you cannot replay, you cannot do Vigilante om0, and the huge difference between load times, only T-Bone Mendez, Toreno's Last Flight, Highjack, Verdant Meadowns, Black Project, and the Desperados can be duped (although a couple more missions can be duped in RTLS and Las Venturas, but that's as far as my knowledge goes), and you can do the 0* glitch, and nothing else. So I would not see it wrong, and it would seem coherent to me that it is separated into 3 different categories: PC Version, and PS2/Emulators Version (since we remember that PS3, PS4 and PS5 emulate the PS2 version) and Xbox Version ; or if you want to make it simpler, 2 versions: PC Version, and Console Version.

yes, I know that option, but I mean that the main categories are divided into 2 (or 3, but simpler 2), for the PS2 version, that would include all the other consoles, so that it is a little more organized and comfortable let's say (in addition to the reasons I gave before ^); but ok

It would be nice if the ILs leaderboard had a split for PC and Console versions since PS2 can sometimes give major advantages over PC.

Before DE came out, OG and Remastered got separate versions, both in full game categories as in the IL's. After DE and Remastered were completely separated from the original versions, I think the logical next step would be separating console and PC versions.

Especially in the IL's it really shows there's a big difference in what's possible stratwise, and in difference between 30 and 25 fps in races, as Tier4Jean already mentioned here: https://www.speedrun.com/post/2qa4z

Console and PC leaderboard split isn't really needed, since in GTA historically people have always ran the fastest available version (especially since the PC versions of the older GTAs like SA can run on pretty much anything that can run Windows applications these days), and the interest for a console/PC split was never high enough to warrant actually going forward with it.

And for some ILs being better on console than on PC, I'm not aware of any ILs that are like that since the switch to RTA from IGT for all ILs on both the original and Remastered/DE leaderboards (on the latter that switch was even more desperately needed since DE allows running the game at 60+FPS natively, which breaks the timers). And even then, yet again there's the point of people just running the fastest available version for a specific category/IL.

Driving School ILs can be much faster on Console. For example half of City Slicking (https://www.speedrun.com/gtasa/run/m3go4vqz) is already finished when it's started, which as far as I know is impossible to do on PC.

Noone does full game runs on console anymore, so I get that splitting console and pc versions there would be pointless. For IL's I think the split would be more than logical, which is the most apparent when watching the school course IL's.

On that subject, this run is mistimed: https://www.speedrun.com/gtasa/run/y8j804xz The course is finished in 1 frame, which at 30fps would make it 33ms. Rhans used a different trick to finish the course in 1 frame, which at 25fps makes it 40ms.

For me, the fact that currently almost no one runs on Console and that is why they do not want a division of categories does not seem very relevant to me, to be honest, there are categories that almost no one runs and they are still there, or on the contrary, there are categories that people ran and still removed (this mainly in Category Extensions to give an example), so it doesn't seem coherent to me. Even so, I consider that a division of categories is needed because both versions are completely different when it comes to speedrunning, and it would not be bad if they were divided, it does not affect anyone, it is simply a technical change.

The argument that no one runs on console is irrelevant considering that almost no ones runs remastered edition and yet it got its own category
