100% does not mean all star coins. It means complete everything in the game. If you beat a level as nabbit, you don’t actually complete the level. It’s just like if you use Super Guide in nsmbw, you don’t actually beat it.

And it’s the 100% category, so why would it get accepted if the game doesn’t count it?

Also, like Nate said, you can’t change the name of a category for just one character. Doing so changes it for all characters, which isn’t gonna happen because once again, 100% ≠ just all star coins.

How tho? We are talking about ILs not the whole game and the only requirement for 100% in that case is collecting all the star coins

Minnesota, USA

The goal of the 100% (IL) category, is to fully complete the level (exception being levels with secret exits that operate under different, but similar rules). If you beat a level using nabbit you dont actually/fully complete it. If you really wanna run 100% ILs, use a character that actually requires skill Keepo

That hurtful comment aside, How exactly do you not complete it. All evidence points to the contrary

If a run follows the rules (the rules being: complete a level while collecting all the star coins) shouldn’t it still be allowed. Even IF the game “doesn’t think the level is complete“ what does that even matter

United States

You don't get 100% by just collecting all the Star Coins. You also have to catch all the Nabbits that stole P-Acorns, and time doesn't end until you get a text box saying you completed all of Adventure Mode. That text box won't appear if any levels were completed with only Nabbit.

To reiterate an earlier post, the only reason that Nabbit appears in the 100% section is because of formatting limitations on Speedrun.com. If it could be removed without removed the Nabbit categories in All Castles or Any%, then it would be gone. As is, it exists solely so Nabbit runs can exist for other categories.

This is about ILs not full game runs

And I dont see why we can’t make an exeption here

The rules state:

Complete the level as fast as possible collecting all star coins

Timing is done using in-game time P-acorn and Star are banned

I don’t see how using Nabbit breaks those rules

United States

Nabbit already has IL's. This thread should be locked if it's asking for something that already exists.

If you want a Nabbit 100% full game category, then feel free to get the "Adventure Mode complete" textbox as Nabbit. that's the agreed upon finish time for not just this game, but The New Super Mario Bros. franchise as a whole when it comes to 100%.

What we’re “debating” is whether or not doing an IL as Nabbit while collecting all the star coins would be valid

Minnesota, USA

pretends, you're misunderstanding. we're saying that since the game doesn't count a level being beaten as nabbit, then it shouldn't count for the 100% IL category. they're saying it shouldn't matter what the game thinks as long as you get every star coin.

"That hurtful comment aside" - have you not heard of a joke?

It’s hard to convey sarcasm with just text

I mean not really. There was an emote for a reason.

nabbit is basically cheat mode for NSMBUDX, and referring to what Nate said regarding the purple level icon it does not signify that the level has been legitimately completed (notice how for all the other characters it remains blue) so I believe that using Nabbit does not mean 100%, however I do completely understand where you are coming from and it is a bit of a hard question to answer.

Illinois, USA

so for this like many people have said the game does not count levels done by Nabbit as 100% so if you watch one of the said “100%” nabbit runs it is done on a level already beaten by another character making it that the level is technically finished but Nabbit can get the star coins to get it to 100%

Romain and I are discussing this situation rn we will update you once we come to a decision

After much consideration, Romain and I have decided to remove all runs under the Nabbit 100% category for all levels. With this we have decided that from now on we will reject all nabbit 100% IL submissions.

The reason for this is that we (and many others) believe that by completing a level 100% the game recognises that the level has been done 100%. However, once completing a level with nabbit (even if all star coins are collected) the game does not register it towards the star count on the game file.

Unfortunately due to the layout of SRC we cannot remove the nabbit sub category for other sub categories, so it has been clearly stated with in the rules that Nabbit 100% is banned and it will continue to stay like this.
