kinda want to know, a bit bored.. h

Scotland

favourite to play, aka only game I run is Perfect Dark Zero

favourite to watch is probably SM64 and Spyro although I haven't watched any in a while

Belgium

Favourite to play: either Sonic Adventure 2: Battle or Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. It generally depends on my mood lol.

Favourite to watch: probably Sonic Adventure 2.

Favourite to watch (TAS): definitely SA2B.

Favourite to TAS: either SA2B or Donkey Kong Country 2: GBA. The former is a lot more difficult to TAS (optimally) than the latter, though, so it depends on whether I want a a challenge or not lol.

Tough to say because I both play and watch thousands of games. Just some examples I play Final Fight arcade, final fight 2 and 3... dead connection on the arcade. Castlevania 2.. there's too many to name hehe.

United States

I usually speedrun games I enjoyed casually, with rare exceptions. As for what I enjoy watching, I watch people run games I run lol.

I love speedrunning Indie Games! the idea of a developer making a subset of games thats interesting (and sometimes out of the box) really cultivates me. I always look on a lookout to find an interesting indie games to speedrun.

As for entertainment, i mostly watch GTA Speedruns. It's amazing how an open-world game can get beaten fast using any strats / glitch that i never thought it exist before. never bored by it, due to new findings in every corner lol.

For both I'd say any Mario Kart game, although watching other racing games is also pretty entertaining. That being said, only if they're time trials (or ILs), full game runs for racing games imo are just boring, bland, and not very fun.

Surprisingly, Minesweeper! It’s really satisfying to see how fast people can figure out puzzles, since you can’t really memorize a route which makes it a somewhat unique watch.

Lately I've been really enjoying watching MitchFlowerPower's "Super Mario Bros 3 Points Tournament" speedrun style tournament.

Although finishing the game faster than your opponent gets you points, and you are meant to complete the game in under 60 minutes, there is a balancing act as doing misc. tasks gets you points also, so going slightly slower might get you more points than your opponent. It's really interesting, I like stuff like that.

Basically the games I enjoy watching usually have more going on than just a basic speedrun:

SMB3 Super Mario World Super Metroid (you have randomisers, Reverse Boss Order, etc) Super Mario 64 (1 star, 70 star, 120 star, etc) Streets Of Rage 4 (17 characters and 6 difficulties, each combination is a different run with different strategies) Sonic Mania (different characters, different strats if collecting all emeralds or not)

etc

CoD:Modern warfare 2.It is my first game, which i tried to speedrun

England

I really like running games from my childhood, which I guess is to be expected. I just get so much more pumped up when I have a history with a game, and it pushes me further than with any other game I could've chosen (given I often have the attention span of a goldfish... that extra motivation counts!). I also like running less popular games, mostly because I don't feel as much pressure about how well I do in a run. I swear, I would have run a Pokémon game forever ago if it didn't feel so intimidating to me, but here we are.

As a result... I've ended up getting really into a game in both of those categories, being Petz Catz 2 for the Wii of all things. I memorised everything you need for any% glitchless 10 years before the game was even run, so for me it's pretty easy to get into haha

As it turns out, though, I do like watching popular game speedruns, especially Mario games. It's odd because I don't even like playing mario games, but the communities, runs and ideas are just so interesting to me! Good job to all the people who make them awesome ^^

Best speed games that I played:

Need for Speed No Limits: The scale is surprisingly big considering the game’s format, and there are many events and cars to unlock that keeps the game feeling fresh.

Need for Speed: The campaign is straightforward and short enough to make this a compact package that doesn’t overstay its welcome, and that can spark some additional longevity in your backlog thanks to its multiplayer.

Shift 2: Unleashed: Driving in first person could be considered the major feature, improving each impact your car receives and making the HUD feel real.

And if you like MMOs, I have something to recommend to you: WoW.

WoW entered the gaming arena with a world that was more friendly to players. It was more “forgiving” and basically easier. The game had comparatively lower penalties. For example, if you die in the game, you merely had to restart from the nearest graveyard as a ghost and then find your way back to your body to be resurrected. You’d also be able to heal after combat automatically.

Favorite speed game depends on the day, but I'm really enjoying Lilo & Stitch (GBA) at the moment. Favorite to watch (and play tbh) for the past couple of months has been rando runs and races, like ZOoTR and KH2FM Rando!
