So yeah i record alot of stuff i do and for some reason the videos are many gigabytes. There is this video i recorded in 2019 it is 1:43 long in 720p 60fps and the file size is 38gb like what sense does that make then some videos are 8 plus hours long and are only around 15gb.

@SioN It's not just about resolution and framerate. In the "Output" settings, there are options for Recording Quality and Encoder with both affect file size. You're gonna need to give more information instead of giving vague reasoning.

yeah no wonder it's 38gb, the bitrate is way too high

your bitrates are 20 000 & 60 000, that's overkill, try using 2000 & 6000 instead (also you could probably change VBR to CBR to keep a constant bitrate, instead of varying between 2000 & 6000 when it's needed)

I find it desirable to record at 10, 000 kbps or higher, then compressed it.

If u record at 2000kbps the quality is somewhat not good as compare to 10000 then compressed it.
