can we get a retrospective?

What a magnificent run, Mr. inari80000! You have certainly earned some bragging rights here, and I think I speak for everybody when I say I want to sit and listen to you brag. So don't leave us hanging! It must have taken ages to plan and execute this run. I have so many questions.

I've been wanting to understand the bug you exploit for some time now (ever since I saw the famous TAS that showed it off first, of course!). It seems to my amateur eye like you've learned a lot about it. How do you prevent it from locking up the machine? Do you know the precise conditions under which it triggers? Do you have a way to predict what extra stuff it will clear?

You clearly planned your pill placements throughout the whole run very carefully. You did an impressive job of routing. Even the non-glitched levels are very efficient, manage color efficiency well, and are obviously planned many many moves ahead. How did you construct your plan? How did you practice? Did you actually memorize the exact placement of thousands of pills in a row??

How long did this whole project take, from conception through planning, practice, and execution?

Kudos again, man. I really hope you drop by and reveal your juicy secrets.

The glitch I played is based on TAS posted to nicovideo in 2015. It is not my credit because it remembers almost all the procedures.

About glitch viruses are disappearing at once. When erasing 14 viruses in one chain, glitch seems to occur when you delete the 14th virus sideways. Similarly, glitch whose virus disappeared in the vertical direction appears to occur when the 14th row is deleted vertically but as far as I know it has never happened at the left end. I saw it on another TAS that disappears at the right end. Although the screen may be broken in the middle of the chain, it could be canceled if you pressed the A button and any direction key. It may not occur due to factors such as version differences. Actually, when I played like this movie, glitch of Lv 19 could not be reproduced, it finally occurred by changing the procedure.

I do not know the difference between versions, but perhaps anyone can do the same thing, so it may not be suitable as a record of speedrun.

Yeah, amazing run inari80000! It's really cool that you managed to go from that TAS to a RTA on a console.

I've been putting quite some effort into figuring out more about the freezing and glitching. I made a post about my findings here: https://www.twingalaxies.com/danielw/wall/3961/dr-mario-or-how-i-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-love-nnes Perhaps this can help to get even faster runs.

Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. @inari80000, let me know if you want me to translate any of it to Japanese.
