Nsmb Wii multiplayer wr

Read my most recent post in here, this V

Okay I have thought about this and now that me and my friend got a 2nd place time in multiplayer (Video is uploading) We think its unfair that the nr 1 time is still on the boards and I have thought of a rule that makes it impossible to do what they did and possible what other people do, It has to be verifyable that there are 2 players playing at one or multiple points in the run by just watching the gameplay and what I mean by that is that you can hold right and run on 2 controllers then press a and play yourself I've done it for 5-4 practice when my friend wasn't around but more complicated gameplay like jumping and dodging obstacles is basically impossible and if you can pull it of huge gg. So what I'm saying is that there should be some kind of rule that says that atleast once in every world there should be a point where both players are showing more complicated gameplay then just running. I hope that this will be noticed by a mod and we can get to a solution together so that people that actually took a lot of time, practice and strat finding together to be at the top of the leaderboards. Thanks for reading everyone ?

WRs never follows the rules because WR holders are cheaters Kappa

No to be serious before saying « Oh this run don’t follow the rules » see the entire video and not only 10 seconds.

Is there a way to play on an emulator over the internet on nsmbw?

Pays de la Loire, France

Emulator is banned on Leaderboards.

But you can play on emu if you want with Dolphin. Just you can’t submit runs on the site

@Parrot_Dash it does but the mods dont want to change the rules because Any% multiplayer isn't very popular.

Any% multiplayer will be popular in 15 years imo Kappa

I took it apon myself to time the ammount of time Luigi/P2 was moving and here is what I got. (By the way, this is an approximation of movement time)

Luigi’s total movement time on ground, not in the bubble.

(I’m only counting Horizontal movement for timing, no vertical movement)

(DISCLAMER This is an APPROXIMATE TIME I did not time cutscene movement and OverWorld movement seeing as in both of these Luigi/P2 has no control of his movement)

At 6:02 in the run Luigi moves for 4.09 Seconds in World 5-Pirannah Plant

At 10:06 in the run Luigi moves for 4.26 seconds in World 5-4

At 10:55 in the run Luigi moves for 0.49 seconds in World 5-4

At 15:49 in the run Luigi moves for 1.85 seconds at World 8-2

At 19:25 in the run Luigi moves for 1.60 seconds in World 8-Airship

At 20:09 in the run Luigi moves for 0.96 seconds in World 8-Airship

At 23:46 in the run Luigi moves for 1.73 seconds in the final boss level (This is tricky to time cause Luigi is off screen for a bit and then comes back)

Out of a 26 minute 35 second run Luigi moves for about 13.13 seconds.

I don’t know if this helps but I thought I would put this here.

That’s not against the rules. The rules just say that you have to have 2 players.

But it should be. (Hey, its just my opinion)

The issue is where do the lines get drawn? You can’t ban bubbles, cause then you’re essentially saying players aren’t allowed any deaths/accidental bubbles throughout the entire run. It’s a question of enforcing a rule which is essentially unenforceable.

Well, I was watching some nsmbw speedruns for my entertainment and, as I love playing this game with friends, I thought "I wonder what is the world record. Damn, 26m 35s!". I said to myself that the run should be unbelievable. It was indeed: I could not believe this was a 2-player run. Like, Luigi litteraly played for 13 seconds throughout the entire run. I was expecting superhuman skills, but I only found a 1-player run with Luigi staring at his brother with boredom. So, yeah, I guess there should be a rule (or rules) that allow people that practiced hard to be rewarded for this. And I hope that, one day, there will be such a rule.

It’s not a viable rule, having rules that aren’t black and white, such as ‘once a world showing more complex gameplay then just running’, makes for a bad precedent to be creating. Nobody is stopping anybody from running the game however they choose to do, but the rules of these specific leaderboards are unlikely to change. You have to remember though that Speedrun.com leaderboards are not everything, if you don’t agree with the rules that the community have decided upon, then do your own runs with your own rules, they just won’t be competitive on these leaderboards.

Why discussing that again FeelsBadMan

If the run is still verified, it says the run follow the actual rules of the category.

Also @StarrlightSims ^
