Name change concern

Hello. Just a few days ago I changed my username on a whim, but I didn’t think it through enough and it’s starting to confuse many people in the community I moderate. If it’s too much to ask, could one of the site moderators perhaps remove the 60-day cool-down just for this one time so I could change it back? Sorry for the nuisance. By the way, my old username was AndreMH and that’s what I use for all my social media accounts

Komrade is referring to the l.m.a.o four steps to cope with a stupid mistake.

L. Learn Learn from your mistake. At least do that. That's the bare minimum so it's step 1.

M. Mitigate Try some damage control. Explain to those you've confused why you changed your name. Make a blog post. Add "aka oldname" to your social media. Etc.

A. Ask Apply to have your error overturned privately and quietly, don't get your hopes up. Asking for an exception publically puts staff in a position where they're setting a precedent. Don't do that.

O. Own it Own your mistake and move on with your life.

Learn. Mitigate. Ask. Own it. Remember LMAO.
