Greetings Silent Hill 2 community i have recently picked up this game and i'm having fun with it but i'm having in-game timer problems the SHsplit and the Livesplit version seem to know the game is running but during gameplay the timer will not move i have tried much and nothing has worked if someone could help me i really like this game and would love to put some times on the leaderboards. Fixed the video i'm a complete retard forgive me.. How can i tell what version i am on? i have tried all the admin things i can think of nothing works... Is there a patch i'm missing? Does everyone on this leaderboard happen to have legit copies of this game? maybe the game is telling me to fuck off xD idk

welp i tried running a patch to help out but it ended up making it so my monitor's default resolution changes everytime i launch the game causing the game not to work when i attempt to switch it back manually so that's what i get for trying to get it to work now i have no idea how to fix it thanks for the response but im now going to commit seppuku i honestly wanted to play this game

To get the timer program to work you probably need to replace your .exe with this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/2dy379winndzn67/sh2pc.zip?dl=0 SHSplit only works with two .exes iirc and this is one of them.

For some reason different .exes shift around where exactly the IGT value is in the memory, meaning the program is looking in the wrong place for the data it needs hence why it returns a 0 value. Not sure why this is an issue with SH2 because it seems like it's fairly consistent across .exe files with SH3.

My lord am i frustrated.... Thank you all for your help honestly glad to say my IGT is working now but because of my search to get it working in the first place my game is now fucking with my monitor resolution causing me to not be able to play the game and/or see the game window any longer...... the video will show all but now i am at a loss because if i had just waited for responses like the ones i got i would be running the game tonight ASAP................. Not sure if its a registry thing or if i could just get a different copy of the game idk as i deleted the original files i thought was patched and re-downloaded the game but even without the "compatibility" patch the game still resets my resolution...... maybe this time its time to give up......... Try using dxwnd to run it in windowed mode

I had a similar issue though and I had to tab out and manually change my resolution back to normal

i do have dxwnd and it is in a window but the window is lost in the magic world of computer space not on my monitor but its running how can i force the window or make it come on my monitor is my new problem
