What cheat code did you use for this? I tried doing an RTA of this but the game would always freeze when trying to load world 8 after going down the warp zone pipe.
@Novawolf basically you go in "tool" -- "cheat". Then, you put 0704 in adress and 1 in value. If the game still crashes, I can't help you. It works fine for me.

Good shit guys! To be honest I did it for fun at school when I had nothing to do. My goal wasn't to be the fastest way, but to exploit the most things possible with this cheat.
@periwinkle how did you touch the axe by the front? When I tried there were invisible blocks
That happens when you hit the side of the axe too low. Even in the vanilla game with no cheats/modifications, you can see this happen if you undershoot the jump to the axe, where Mario will appear to brush up against the side of the axe but then just fall straight down without actually grabbing it.
