What about limiting the number of moderators a user can have?

Not really sure what you are asking here. Are you suggesting that a user should be limited in the amount of games they can moderate? That won't work, be it three (very low number), or any other arbitrary number. Every time a user request a game, they become the moderator for that game. I am a (single) moderator of 9 games by that way. There are users who moderate even more games than me. If we can't request new games because we reached a limit, many of those games won't exist here.

Also, the problem you mentioned about inactive (or not contactable) moderators isn't really a problem, because it has a solution - a runner can request moderation in the relevant thread if the mods are not active in a game. So no need for a limit for that reason.

I'm going to assume you mean that you want to limit the number of games a user can moderate, although I am also a bit confused by the wording of your post.

Not inherently a terrible idea as there are a handful of users who moderate way too many games (like, well over 100 in some cases) and as a result don't really do a great job moderating any of them, however if we enforced a cap and it was too low it would cause way more problems than it would solve, and if it was too high then it wouldn't accomplish much at all.

For site staff, when we handle moderation requests or game requests we do see the number of games the user already moderates and keep that in mind, but we don't just look at the number. A high number is definitely a red flag, but on its own doesn't necessarily mean anything. I also expect super mods of individual games to vet new moderators in a similar way, though unfortunately I think this is pretty uncommon, especially for smaller games with relatively inexperienced moderators.
what about the idea that one person can own up to three moderators?
Three? KEKW That is waaaaay too low. So many games would be left without moderators, or with an inadequate number of moderators to handle run submissions, or worse, would be forced to add unqualified users as moderators, if we enforced such an absurdly low arbitrary maximum.

Just for me personally, I would have to abandon two of the five Batman Arkham leaderboards (despite being sort of the main active moderator for the series as a whole), a leaderboard for a game that literally only I have ever run, and another mostly dead leaderboard that had to be salvaged from the previous inactive moderator who put zero thought into its setup. Granted this restriction would have to be "grandfathered in", but still, long-term you can see how this wouldn't really be an improvement overall.

Hello, for my part I posted two runs for LA COPS and Fullblast and I am still waiting for their validity. When I look at the profile of the players they are people who have not come to the site for a long time.

@lepapagameur This is not the place for that. If you’re facing a game with inactive moderators and would like to become a moderator for the game, you need to use this thread https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/dueac

Please remember to read the first post and do your own due diligence as specified there before posting.
