I mean like characters that are brutal and violent and they are insane and crazy. I have not found another anime that gives me chills like Hellsing Ultimate did. There are anime that have tried to replicate it like Akame ga Kill or Devil May Cry but they come off as carbon copies. Not quite reaching the level of breath taking badassery that Hellsing was able to pull off. I'm watching Drifters this season because it is by the same mangaka as Hellsing but that won't be as good because A ) it is a TV anime so the quality of animation is decreased B ) It is by Hoods. A terrible studio that is hardly known. C ) The only badass character so far is the main character. I don't get an epic vibe from the other two.

Is Hellsing really that special? Is there really no other anime that has that level of awesome?

What about black lagoon and jormungand? Also did you watch hellsing or hellsing ultimate?

I've watched Black Lagoon. Didn't give me the same feeling of supernatural terror. The characters just don't have that same eccentrism. I have not watched Jormungand but the character designs don't attract me and from what I have heard it is a watered down Black Lagoon.

Lastly to answer your question about whether it was Hellsing Ultimate or not, I would like you to refer to the first word of the third line of my post.

Also, HU is apparently one of the best-dubbed animes. I don't know that from personal experience, but that could be a reason why it actually is special.

I have watched Tokyo Ghoul. First season was too rushed and the second season was a trainwreck. The manga is better but still it doesn't have the same level of supernatural terror that takes my breath away. It's just a bunch of teenagers with super powers like every other shounen out there. Excuse me while I barf.

haha, yeah. I was going to mention that I don't watch much anime, so my perspective when I watched TG was with fresh eyes. Your description sounds accurate. After watching TG, I started to notice the fandom surrounding it. I noticed what else those people were into, and I realized basically what you just said.

Another character similar to Alucard is Dark Schneider from the classic OVA series called Bastard!!. The dub makes this super funny so please try to replace his ridiculous voice with an epic voice in your head

Obviously these are Animes I liked and therefore recommend them since you may like them aswell based that you liked Hellsing. For better recommendations it'd be better not to describe a Series, more about genre you like since it's easier to match rather than a "Cool dudes do cool Stuff" kind ;P

Oh boy I would love to go into detail as to why that list is terrible but I am watching Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations right now and I want to get back to watching it. So I will briefly explain why those are terrible choices

Elfen Lied - Torture porn with lolis. The characters are not interesting. The story is incomplete. Corpse Party - High School stereotypes getting murdered. Snooze. Owari no Seraph - Same deal with Tokyo Ghoul. Kids with superpowers. Psycho Pass - Great anime, but you can't really compare it to Hellsing in any meaningful way Terra Formars - Have not seen it but I will try it out. But from what I have seen, people have bashed it so I won't go in with high expectations.

Sorry if I come off as snooty. I am a veteran when it comes to anime and I am a snob.

I would suggest watching a show called PsychoPass its getting a full second season release very very soon, and I loved the first Season and its got the Gore and all sorts or crazy people and crazy story going on worth the watch for sure.

^ but be wary of the Urobutcher.

I mean for badass anime I would say to watch genocyber( more cyberpunk then supernatural and pretty Gorey) or drifters ( new it more fantasy but has an art style and character designs similar to hellsing )
