INFINITE MILES TRICK DISCOVERED!

YOU ALL I JUST DISCOVERED A GAME BREAKING EXPLOIT TO USE IN RUNS. While practicing first debt percent, I set the system clock forward one day. No big deal, but when I set it to the day previous after saving and quitting from the next day, the vending machine in the plaza gave me the next level of daily streak miles, 100. I have been continuously going back and forth between the 21st and 20th, and have been getting 100 miles each time. When going to a previous day, no progress from another day is wiped, which means you can go back and forth without consequences. This is amazing! Should we use it in further runs??

It may take too long to do for the benefit it has. Do you get 2000 Birthday miles every birthday or just the first one? If every, then it would be better to go from one birthday to another to another for 2000 at a time.

Every single one. This gives me another idea! Possibly, you could set the date before starting the run as your birthday. Once you collect the miles for that birthday, go forward a year, then back and forth and so on. This is 2k per, plus the dailies, which would be about 2,040 ish miles per time set. This could be a good strategy. What do you think?

I just wonder how much you would need to get overall. Obviously it is useful, but you only NEED 5k miles for debt 1, and after that subsequent payments are bells. It all depends on what run it is and what we are using miles for. There are some VERY easy miles as well, such as the photo designer app, that it may be faster to get instead of changing the date a 3rd time, though I am not 100% sure. I am overall not sure of the relevance of getting the extra 40 miles due to how small it is in the grand scheme of the run.

1st debt probably uses this birthday thing to skip most of the mile stuff, but I am not sure exactly how it would affect something like all debts, especially if another duplication glitch is found.

One was just discovered, but I think you are referring to a different one. If you were to set the second accounts birthday to the same date as the first account, and play party play on your birthdays, would you get double the miles? That could be a good way too.

By another one I am referring to a single player duplication glitch. That depends on the result of whatever discussion about run categories we should have for how that glitch affects the game.

That’s true. Should we create a discord dedicated to this? I think it would be useful. I have hours to put in so I’m down. Has a route been defined yet? Personally I think the setup for the other account would take too much time for what it’s worth. It’s very primitive but I guess we must use it until a single player method is discovered.

Not much discussion has occurred, I would think that the strategy for a single debt is either: Do day 1 with birthday set to current day -> do the easiest and most convenient nook miles to get to 3000 (Bday + 1000) -> change date to get another 2000 ->Talk to nook to pay it off -> Time ends at the celebration animation (If there is one, fairly sure but cant 100% recall) Or Do Day 1 on Bday -> get nook miles for Bday -> Time travel once to collect next years nook miles -> Time travel again to collect another 2000 and talk to nook to pay it off -> end timer

Both strats sound good to me!

I would imagine All debts involves actually abusing nook miles in some other way or something, if we exclude the duplication. The only idea I have, which is probably inefficient, is getting a bunch of birthday miles and using tickets to try and get the tarantula ridden island after getting a pockets upgrade, and fill the pockets with tarantulas, and then go back and sell them and invest them in the stalk market and hope you get lucky.

That’s a good start, but I think we’ll find something more efficient. Why haven’t categories been set yet?

I thought going back a day is just treated as going forwards a day. Anywho, 7 days is the highest streak you can get - gives 300 miles a pop.

Precisely, but this could avoid accidental holiday-triggers.

If you can redeem miles and sell the stuff you buy you could get infinite bells too. The Nook Inc.™ Rug sells for 5000 meaning you could clear second debt in an hour or less

Updated timer stop for First Debt

Previously the rule said: "Timer ends on the regaining control of your character after talking to Tom Nook and paying off your first debt."

This was a little ambiguous, as some runs stopped the timer when the final text box cleared:

Others waited until the camera fa
