I was wondering if there was a more comfortable way to hold. Currently I am am holding it so my pointer finger is controlling the analog and my thumb is mashing down on the dpad when I need to whistle run.

(Wii U) I have multiple grips. For whistle sprinting, I put it on a table. Left hand: pointer on stick, thumb on dpad down. Right hand: pointer over B. Otherwise I usually hold it normally.

I am running on Switch, hold one in each hand and when trying to whistle sprint I move Link with left thumb and bring right Joy Con over and use right pointer for whistle button.

Left hand grips normally, right hand does this: https://twitter.com/MrGymnast86/status/843231806916771840/photo/1

I do the same as gymnast, expect that I am using the pro controller.

I play on Switch using the standard grip with 4 fingers on the face of the controller. Left index for movement, left thumb for dpad, right index for face buttons and right thumb for the camera. It's nice because once you get used to it you can easily control the camera while whistle sprinting. Also leaves both middle fingers open for R/RZ L/LZ
