I mean Wolf was just making a suggestion and opening it up to discussion, no need for anyone to attack anyone else. Cool if you like the idea, cool if you don't. Personally I think there's no harm in it being under Misc if people are willing to run it.
Okay, I'll address the inquiry that Wolf brought to a public forum first. I personally, don't see the point in it. I think categories should obviously be added if it garners interest in the community. The potential for competition needs to be gauged first (by a community vote, of course). I just don't think the interest for this is there.
Second, vitriolic attacks and absolutely egregious decision making by the moderators has left this community divided. From a new runners' perspective, you think they want to run the game when all they see in the forums is unwarranted hostility?
Now, with this being said, this is not lashing out at the moderators, or anyone in particular. There should be no issue with anyone with interest in this game, or care about where the community for the game does go to voice their opinion. But it's going in a direction where those that get in this circle of drama are becoming part of the problem, rather than part of the solution. What that solution is, is to be determined. But it needs to be addressed... there's only so often you can try to lift this burden off your shoulders before it comes back even heavier.
Getting back to the original question...
No, I don't think there should be another category. Not because I'm "against fun" or anything like that, but because oversaturation can cause a game to be taken less seriously, which in turn, could cause less runners to play.
There are already six categories and two PC categories. Yet, by far, the most run category is Any %. Magnum % is somewhat popular, but this is more likely due to the mechanics of the game, since for most players to obtain a time to beat their current PB, they need a GL, but still, they'd rather not sacrifice a good start or they're tired of resetting at RPD and basement. (Technically, this is really just "no grenade launcher %" because literally everything else besides the GL can be used.)
Beyond that, the other categories have less than 25% of the runners for any%, and to me, this category doesn't add anything meaningful, since it's just any% plus. While Dara was most likely being somewhat sarcastic, I'd actually go for that category first, since it actually requires 100% of unique items being picked up, which would be painful since it would require a lot of inventory management, but at the same time, would require all boss fights, a lot of different routing, such as using the shotgun/magnum/minethrower in places you wouldn't normally, save room/chest routing, etc.
But I think that this category doesn't offer enough variance to be called a category, and would contribute to oversaturation of the board.
So how about everyone writes a new post and explain why this category should/shouldnt be added. Let's give it our best shot to act like adults.
Categories like this belong as challenges to the player rather than requiring any sort of leaderboard. It's extra that's not necessary and doesn't look like it has much interest.
Its a no from me, I just don't see this becoming popular or competitive enough at all to either old or new or current runners to be warranted as a new category.
Ok , about adding new category - Fully Agree, cuz 1st of all it will be like a breath of fresh air for Biohazard 3 community. 2nd Its interesting to learn & its funny!!!

We here engaged in a discussion, about adding of new category and not about narcissism, or troll, senice of humor etc. Whatever! More specifics on this topic, comrade, and not about that you probably have "Big Balls" (if, of course, I guessed with the size).
Personally, I'm indifferent. Im not against it being added nor am I for it. I'm most likely not going to run the category unless it's for the memes so whether it's added or not doesn't affect me. If there are truly people who are interested in it, I'm not going to sit here and say they can't have it. I'm just cautious that it would seem like a wasted effort if not that many people will bother. Agreeing with what Silentkaster said, it would be oversaturation.
I fail to see how this category will bring in new runners. EDIT: Some games like to do a category extension page on SR.com, I feel like RE1-3 need one that contains various fun categories for all 3 games. @Darazanjoll I respect your opinion, so what do you think of this?

At this point some form of 'category extensions' would probably do Resident Evil a world of good.
That way a lot of the more 'centralized', logical categories can remain on the game's main page and the extensions can contain a lot of the more... random, if that is the right word, stipulations.
My opinion on categories has always remained the same. As long as it introduces a significant gameplay change, then it can perhaps belong. As far as this goes in terms of replacing any current category, what more would this offer, in terms of a significant change, over any of the other current categories, is my main question. Putting it into simple terms, isn't this just Any% with more diversions? I hardly see how this would have more place over say... Knife Nemesis%, which, whilst only a Knife variant of Nemesis%, introduced a significant gameplay change, and enough to belong over this. This is, however, only my opinion.

Category Extensions would solve alot actually. Then we could have as many ridiculous categories as we want.

I have an idea. Instead of adding meaningless categories, let's concentrate on such categories as Knife Nemesis% and Nemesis%. Thanks to my friend Victor, for his help during analyzing of your speedruns.

The truth is that this is not correct abbreviation for these categories. I'll explain as much good as i can. So here is a deal. I think you will not deny the fact that during the speedrun of these categories all of involved speedrunners there using a bug (glitch) ,because it will be at least strange thing from your side - to deny the truth. Which exactly bug im talking about? Lemme explain: Everyone who is involved into this categories there using such bug as error of ingame logics / AI of Nemesis (Dchaps can help you with explain of this therm), in some locations during your speedrun route (buildings / furniture / corners (whatever) , you there using it for such purpose as manipulating Nemesis AI (during the fights). In this case Nemesis cannot oppose you with anything. Process memory there reading and right after the start of manipulation trigger, which one btw you prefer to call... ugh .... "Perfect Tactics", on deal is nothing more but using ingame error on this place in game. Sad thing is - that was forgotten by developers.
Explaining in much more understood language for all of you, about what are you doing, believe me or not:
When you there proceed in to needed corner (for example "fight" with Nemmy in Marvin Room) and by this thing (staying in corner) you there generate that trigger , which, in turn, is responsible in that "appearing error" in game logics / AI of Nemesis. And after that , when Nemmy trying to close distance with Jill, just simply trapped himself in that area, which one have that "error", and by this moment Nemmy is just got violated for a certain period of time in therms of behavior, and that in this its just contradicts the algorithms of the game (in game logics)
So my offer is add such prefix as (glitched) to those 2 non fresh categories, and create new ones with needed prefix (no glitch) Knife Nemesis% / (no glitch) Nemesis% but ofc i bet, that better way to all of you who involved in this category - is to feeling safe during "fights" LUL then recieving some adrenalin during real fights vs Nemesis. Now just try to say that im offer no interesting type of run.
