YOU WILL VOTE "YES" TO MIGRATE ALL CURRENT REBIRTH RUNS INTO A SEPARATE CATEGORY ON THE MAIN BOARD PAGE DISPLAYED AMONGST THE OTHERS.

YOU WILL VOTE "NO" TO CHANGE NOTHING AND KEEP REBIRTH INTEGRATED WITH PC TWN/CHN

Okay thanks, with that out of the way, let's begin. I want this done right this time around, and by right, I mean fairly and transparent so we can move forward as a community.

Recent discoveries by PyramidK show more time save than initially accounted for with the REbirth patch. Since these discoveries, the community has been discussing whether or not to keep the patch integrated with PC TWN/CHN considering that the rebirth patch has time save in places the MediaKite version does not. There is an inherent 3 seconds of time save by simply running the patch, and there is also time save in the form of faster inputs and execution that wouldn't otherwise be possible in MediaKite. I will now list the findings, including the video, from PyramidK

"the timesave is much, much more than what was said at first, and the people who tested it did it incorrectly and with poor execution. But since I know that words don't help, I will not only expose what I discovered, but I will also demonstrate it on VIDEO: 1-Any room that has a cutscene will always be faster. 2-Any room in which you have to interact with a text, such as grabbing an object, is faster. 3-Any room where you have to select an option is faster. 4-The menus are much faster and easier to perform. Places where there are timesave: -Second door: 0.5 -Nemesis scene in RPD, up to 0.7 -Restaurant: 0.5 -Cable car: 0.4 -Final nemmy: 1 second -Park cogger puzzle: Up to 1.5 seconds due to faster inputs -Water puzzle: Up to 1.5 -Scene where the truck box falls before the train crash: up to 0.5 -Power station puzzle: Up to 0.7 compared to a perfect room in vanilla -Scene door of Mikhail with nemesis before the train crash: Always 0.3 faster -Scene when jumping from the train: Up to 1.4 -When picking up powders after train crash, due to how quickly it happens the grabs and coming out of a scene, up to 0.6 -Ladder after music box and next staircase: Up to 1.2 seconds (2 quick skips + the nemesis scene) -Room of the stones, much faster than in vanilla, again because of the text and the transitions that work faster, you can save up to 0.7 competing against an almost perfect execution in my PB, something that I never achieved in vanilla. [8:33 PM] -Furnace room (where you combine powders before fighting the worm): Up to 1 second of timesave, due to all the pickups, texts and scene, something that is impossible to save in vanilla.

  • Carlos red vaccine room: Up to 0.5 something impossible in vanilla -Hospital Alley after explosion: Always a 0.3 - 0.4 gold no matter what you do, out of nowhere. -Carlos using vaccine on Jill: Since you can skip these scenes faster, you can save up to 0.7 here. -Nemesis scene in the bridge before dead factory: Always a gold between 0.3 to 0.5 for free -Acid nemmy: Up to 0.7 faster, again the loads are faster and that affects -Room after defeating acid nemmy: I always get a gold of 0.3 - 0.4 without doing anything, completely free. -The timelosses are only: 0.5 in 2 slow doors in city, 0.5 in one slow door at clocktower and 2.5 after CT nemmy"

There is reason to believe that the vote was done unfairly, mismanaged, and the votes altered by influenced stream viewers who quickly submitted a run so they could vote. This is why I have set forth the rules that I have, as strict as they may seem. An SRC board is nothing without its community, and we as a moderation team should always strive to give you an honest and fair playing field. I hope to achieve just that moving forward.

You may ask: "Tater-chan, if the vote was unfair, why are we voting again??"

Because even though the community can agree that the initial vote was handled poorly, voting still matters. Your opinion matters here. If we were to just simply make this change because we deemed it for the greater good, what would stop you from thinking that we could just change anything voted upon in the past at our discretion? I don't want it to be like that here. I love this game. I love this community. I want you to have fun out there and I wanna see you hit that fat fucking PB.

It is up to you now as a community to decide. I will be posting the rules of this thread and voting once more here at the bottom so there can be zero confusion.

Sincerely,

-Tater
