his is all-stars with super mario world allowed to be used.

Staffordshire, England

I believe so

United States

Sure, although it is slower.

How is it slower?

It's the English version, which loses time on save boxes and switch palaces, compared to the Japanese version.

My runs don't use p-switches if they do there like 1 yump or somethin'

Every save box is still going to lose you time on English.

damn, sd2snes is expensive and I don't own a sfc, how would I get it too work besides emu since I don't use emu only to recreate runs for retiming.

You don't need an SFC to play J carts. There's two tabs that you just break off on the console with pliers and it will allow you to play J carts. That's what I and many others do. You're not going to hurt anything by breaking those tabs off. You can get J carts pretty cheap.

Does that mean the SNES is not region locked it just has 2 plastic tabs preventing pal and ntsc-j from being inserted, did I just learn something????

So the thing is the only category that doesn't lose time on English is 0-exit (maybe some meme categorys)

some games have pal lockouts, but U and J consoles are pretty much the same. and pretty much yes

Just break off those two tabs with pliers and that's all you have to do.

You could also take the PCB out of the J-cart and put it in a US cart shell, which eliminates any chance of damage to your US console.

Hey guys, related to which cart's are and aren't valid for runs, I've just got a supereverdrive, can I run SMW on that or do I need to pick up an actual original cartridge? I figured at worst the supereverdrive would be considered closer to an original cart than pc emulation but wasn't sure. Cheers

Running on flash carts is completely fine.
