EDIT: After thinking about it, this is considered custom because when you pick random you get random equipment.

I agree, actually. That will be the WR forever simply because Nintendo patched the glitch. Not to mention, the WR is over a minute faster than 2nd. It's unfair.

there isn't really a way to "unpatch" your game, so I think the run should become obsolete because it physically can't be beaten
