It would be super if the site loaded with the cursor already active in the search box. The rest of the site is mouse-based, this would save a click and be supremo rad.
I see what you're saying Shiken. I think this means it would be best if the user could submit not only the date of a run, but also a time. This way, if needed, a user or mod could look at the date and time of a Twitch clip or a YouTube upload and set date/time based off of that.
Or, since twitch and youtube times may be inaccurate to actual time of run, we just play it with honor system...
im not sure if this has been brought up before or discussed but maybe a way to seperate the runs require verification setting to certain categories, i moderate a game called hungry shark world and the entire IL leaderboard runs on in game time so does the misc category, i would like to turn off runs require verification for the il board and the misc but not the full game categories and i can only have it on and off for all categories which stresses me out
Remove the webgame tag. It leads to severe organization issues (games are hidden for no reason), and it completely unnecessary, as the web platform already exists. Also, there are far more games in the web platform than have the we game tag, which litterally makes no sense. Please fix this, it has annoyed me for years!
I'm sure this has been asked a million times but why is there not an option to sort level runs on our profile to show our most recent ran games at the top? So when you submit a pb on a level, the game which you did the run on appears at the top of the IL page. The same has been done for full game runs, and level runs still have a date attached to them, it can't be that hard to implement.
Bumping an old thread: https://www.speedrun.com/speedrunning/thread/loyt0
Consider adding these two frame-perfect YouTube retimers to the resources page: https://github.com/Slush0Puppy/retime (affectionately known as Slush or SPRT) https://slashinfty.github.io/yt-frame-timer/ (which is based off of SPRT)
Origin of the idea: i.imgur.com/miB93yO.png
The thread also suggested these tools, though I personally haven't used them: https://www.zapstudio.net/framecalc/ VirtualDub Avidemux 2.5.7
On the Runs Awaiting Verification page, when I hover over a rejected run it would be more convenient if it displayed the rejection reason, rather than the run description.
Moderators often have to open the "Edit run" page to change timing or other details in runs they are watching. This wastes a lot of time flipping in between the run page and the edit page. It would be very useful to have an edit run button that, instead of taking you to a new page, simply opens the fields below the run video for editing and saving. (Also ensure that one cannot verify or reject a run while editing).
How about changing the looks of uncontested WRs? Adding small letter U or even 🆓 or something? so looking at someone's profile you can see which WRs are uncontested and which are not.
@Oxknifer Right click the "Edit run" property and select "Open in a new browser tab/page".
@Renusek Sounds like feature bloat. Also sounds like it would be a hard time implementing something that "defines" what WR is free or not. Possibly even a little.. hurtful? I wouldn't really like if my WR was labeled as "free". That just sounds silly.
Dunno how practical this would be, but how about an option to compare different speedrunners on the graph (per category)? This would be like the current setup, but instead of selecting categories, one would select runners within a certain category.
Probably not that important of a feature, but would be nice to have. A column or section when a run is submitted to show where the video is from ie Twitch or YouTube. Any thoughts?
Please add the ability to submit a time as 0.00.
Yes, some games do allow a flat 0 for time in Individual Levels.
Below is an example from Metal Gear Solid VR Missions.

Thanks!
I believe that has been brought up before and the general consensus was that if a game finds itself getting 0s then it should probably use a different method of timing (if possible).
In the example of that run, the run did not take 0 seconds. It took (roughly estimating) 3-5 seconds. In a case like that, IGT probably shouldn’t be used as the timing method since it allows for inaccurate times due to how the game displays that time at the end.
Granted, the general opinion could have changed since the last time this was brought up, but I do remember this discussion from before.
Feature Request: Add a "Community Best" time on the IL leaderboards page
Summary: This adds an extra row to the bottom of the ILs grid which contains the total time of all the ILs for each category.
Pros:
- A speed community can not only compete with each other for IL WRs, but that can also be compelled to cooperate to improve the Community Best time. "As a community, can we get to sub 20? Lets work together to make this happen!"
- At a high level, this seems very simple as its just adding all WRs and displaying them
Cons:
- Compared to full game runs, this time would not be accurate for games that have time out of levels, such as hub worlds and menus.
Example:
Thanks for the response, but there are good reasons we wouldn't go to RTA or break ties some other way. I wouldn't propose this if I thought there was a valid alternative within the website's system.
- VR's In Game Timer is excellent
It calculates score bonuses based on ammo and stealth, accurately accounts for framerate (lag), and starts and stops at the same time, every time. A time of 0.00 isn't inaccurate, as the score bonus gives you that time.
- Precedent
The In Game Timer in VR has been the standard for over 20 years, ever since the official leaderboard ran by the game developers ( https://www.konami.com/mg/archive/integral/vr/sn_sud.html ). It is also the standard agreed upon by modern VR runners in spite of going so fast that the score bonus can give you 0.00 on select levels.
- Punishing approaches players take unfairly
In VR, you can pause buffer by pressing start, or opening up the weapon or item menu with L2 or R2. Runners can play frame by frame, to perfect movement, shots, etc. I do not think it is reasonable to punish players who pause buffer, when it is a valid strategy within the game.
Hope that clears it up : ) My perspective is that if the game says a time is 0.00, it is. Even if the score bonus could go negative, the game does not track times this way.
P.S. This issue also occurs in Metal Gear: Ghost Babel's VR Missions ( https://www.speedrun.com/mggbvr/run/zp4ppjrz )
P.P.S. If there is concern about people submitting fake 0:00.00 times on boards, a checkmark option could be added for mods to "Allow 0 times"
