I was doing a run and I beat the people (i still dont know what to call the enemies in this game lol) but it didnt let me go to the chinese open??? I assume this is probably be a corrupted rom or it could potentially be a bug(???). If it's a corrupted rom can someone point me in the direction of a non-terrible rom please?

I could be wrong since I've not touched the game in a while but I'm pretty sure you have to pick up your money after they run away. If you watch your clip back you can see a glimmer on the ground that looks like a star crystal but in this instance I believe its the money they stole from you when you tried to enter the chinese open. Usually you automatically pick it up and I'm not sure how but you manage to open the menu before this triggers. I'd recommend you try this part again because there's a fair chance you just ran into a bug as you suggested. If not, I can try find you the rom site I used

So yes you are absolutely correct about it being a bug. I went back and tried that without spamming X and it worked perfectly fine. I guess my normal "playstyle" so to speak just includes me developing early onset arthritis (i spam super fast and super often), so I literally opened the menu in the short period before she picks up the money. Fun fact about this bug, it actually completely hard locks you out of the games, because your game freezes if you try to go back to that room. Thanks for the help though lol, I didn't expect to be finding game breaking bugs on my first speedrun of the game lol.

I'm 100% sure that you didn't pick up the money which is the whole quest of it!
