With the recent patch that Night Dive did, the quick kill on the jeeps with the knife has been patched.
Which version is acceptable for runs? The most recent or any? Would like to know for future runs as this saves ~25 seconds.

If anyone's going for legit WRs, you probably want it. GOG has patched their version of the game now aswell, so as far as I'm aware, there's really no other way to obtain version 1.0, sadly. I've tried my best finding it.

I will see if I can contact the developer or something via Steam or whatever. See if this will be changed. Otherwise I may bite the bullet. Don't want to go through the hassle of unpatching, etc.
You don't need to uninstall or unpatch your current Steam version if you download the game from the link up there.
It'll simply give you a game installer and after you've installed you're done. It doesn't run off any client or whatever.
Damn, was wondering why I could never get the jeep quick kills. Didn't realize that the patches fixed that shit. Would be nicer if it was made more apparent in the category or something that version severely impacts the run-a-bility of the game.

I hate that so many modern PC games get "fixed" like this. Complicates things.
I'm kinda urked by the pc category essentially being locked to <=1.1. It's fine if someone runs an obscure game that is rare and expensive for competition to get their hands on. But in this case 1.1 is literally impossible to obtain even if you have a million dollars to spend on the game. It's already been made clear to me that none of the runners here are willing to grant access to 1.1 which I understand: the whole piracy thing and TOS.
But when it comes to removing that exception from the retail version of the game to allow quick jeep kills. There certainly aren't any legal implications of that. I would also argue that the slippery slope argument doesn't hold up being that the rules are set forth by the mods.
Look, I (and probably many others) just want to run this game. Find a way to make it accessible for new runners. Add the mod to resources. Make a new category for full retail. WR's don't mean anything when it's impossible to compete.

Tell me where you were able to find it in 5 minutes...The only 1.1 I was able to find was pronounced dead after 7 days of no activity (before I made the post). I see now that there are a couple s¤¤ds. I wonder who those are? =p

I don't mean to bump a 1 year old thread with 9 month old bitch fest from an individual with a 2 year-olds attitude, but now that the introduction of mods have made access to the back-stab jeeps literally as easy as a single click on steam (okay several clicks if you count loading the mod from the mod manager), will this mod (and only this mod, mind you) be considered acceptable in runs?
Allowing it would be highly appreciated, wanna get back to running it this month and 1.1 is garbage.
I don't mind, but as Slayer said, it may raise some criticism from outside the community about modifying the current patch.
