Questionable reason for game rejection

So a little while ago I submitted a flash game called Mario mini golf. It’s a dumb game admittedly, but it actually has a lot of variables making it a good speedgame and my friend and I have a lot of fun doing runs of it. Then, the game got rejected. I understand that’s going to happen sometimes, so I wasn’t upset until I saw the reason for rejection. The reason provided was that it “doesn’t seem notable enough for the confusion it causes on the search bar”. So basically what this is telling me is that games are not being judged on whether or not they’re good speed games, oh no. It’s being judged as to whether or not it’s going to confuse us stupid idiots that are members of this site. God forbid we need to click on the game to be able to discern what game it is we’re about to play. Anyways, sorry, I couldn’t help but to get sarcastic. Here’s links to a run of the game and the game itself. Game: http://www.smbgames.be/mario-mini-golf.php Run:

Pretty good game, I made a total score of 840 points. :D

They may have declined submission for have a limited amount of flash games on the site.

I'd say at least half of the game requests we get nowadays are flash games, if not more. Therefore, we're particularly cautious about the quality, length, and interest of flash games.

@Gyoo in that case fair enough. Like I said, it wasn’t so much of an issue of it getting rejected, rather the reason provided which didn’t cite any issue with the game itself.

The reason is perfectly valid. The game's name is deliberately chosen to cash in on Nintendo's marketing, while having none of the traits people associate with Nintendo's games.

@PresJPolk Ok, sure, even if they want to moderate games that way then fine. The issue is there’s many other games on the site just like this one consisting of the things you just described. For example Mario combat, which the only mario think about that game is the sprites much like this one. Other than that you just go around punching enemies. I understand that game causes less “searchbar confusion”, but like I said I feel like people should be able to figure that out on their own.

SRC used to accept those games, they're cutting back on them now. Time to play real games.
