Hey folks, I run / moderate for the Sonic Mania Plus leaderboards on this website, and while the game has a pretty decent representation on the site, I think it can be better. With the Encore DLC the game has grown to include "Encore mode" runs for each IL on the level leaderboard. Unfortunately the Level leaderboards don't support toggling between different types of ILs.
For full game runs it's possible to toggle between "Good Ending" and "Bad Ending" leaderboards. It'd be great if the level leaderboards could be expanded to support a similar function. For Sonic Mania ILs are as important as full game runs and I'd like to see runners who get good times on Encore mode given the same exposure as those who do well in the regular Mania mode.
I dunno, but wouldn't that be more visible to the moderators of that game on the game's forum instead of the general forums here?
@HowDenKing Forgive me if I'm wrong, but if you're referring to the Sonic Mania Plus moderators, he is one of the mods for it. I'm not entirely sure what he's asking.
Took a look at his board, I think what he is referring to is that the IL page does not automatically list Subcategories on the main page until you click on a specific IL.
I actually agree here, it would be a nice feature - if a subcategory is applicable to every single IL then it would be nice to be able to toggle it on the main page and see all IL's with a specific Subcategory value (ie. in this case, be able to see ALL Encore runs at once).

Yup, the IL all-levels leader board doesn't have a Subcategory option (so you see the best time per level regardless what subcategory it falls into). It would be great if it was a feature, as it pretty much ruins some boards entirely, but seems like one of those things that been on the list of stuff to possibly add for about year now, so I wouldn't expect a quick fix or anything.
Yea the only other option would be to make them Main Categories, but for Sonic Mania Plus .. leaderboards are already separated by Character, so you would have like 10 main categories ... very messy :( .
Ohhh, that makes sense. Yeah, that'd actually be pretty nice. Would use that on the cuphead boards for versions. One question though, how would it work for multiple layers of subcategories?
That's a good question. I imagine there could be a drop box for each "layer" of subcategories, so you could select which variants you want to sort the board by. Either that, or basically just have that same filtering dropbox in the full-game runs as the IL runs. Not sure how easy or difficult that might to actually achieve though.
