why would you wait to get better before looking at the already well established strats? There's almost no chance you happen to come up with something useful if you don't even familiarize yourself with what is already known.

SM64 is a very formulaic game, you'll get better by learning strats there are beginner strats that are faster and just as easy as what you're doing right now I'm sure. Just put some time into learning them.
