Well for now I myself have stuck it with FireStriker since it is a game in my mind that requires quite a bit of skill and execution and is not overly reliant on rng to make runs be more or less successfull. There is some rng to be had in the game but most of its effects can usually be mitigated with the right kind of execution. Its just some good old fun otherwise since the game mechanics is also something pretty uncommon so there are not too many games like it out there. Maybe i will get to something else at some point but for now i will keep racking attempts in and trying for that sum of the best time every know and then :P

When watching stuff i think the most interesting games are those that I have a fond memory over playing or if it is something that I am not really familiar with. The ones that are unfamiliar to me might not be things i consider trying out but its always interesting to see new games you have never heard before.

The game I like the most, of course, Castlevania (NES)

This shouldn't be such a hard question, I want to say Portal, but I rarely finish runs unless I'm doing a new meme category and Pokemon Emerald is way more fun, but I gotta get past the, by now super boring, early game first, which doesn't happen nearly often enough. Movement in both games is unique and fun to me and Pokemon has the advantage of having been series I've enjoyed for years.

To run myself I'd say Perfect Dark Zero, mainly because it's just the one I'm best at running, although I do like a bit of Doom, too.

To watch it's got to be SM64

Grand Theft Auto 5 Online, because it's my favourite game.

For watching, it's the GTA series, because I LOVE GTA games.

Super Mario Bros. Any% (nes) really optimized, challenging and short speedgame.

Spider-Man: Shattered Diemnsions

Seriously, I know it is an old game, but it's gameplay just beats any other X360/PS3 Spider-Man game IMO.

Syder Arcade, really fun sidescrolling shoot-em-up. Bit like a cross between defender and R-type.

The Simpsons Hit & Run is a pretty fun game to speedrun. There are some hard strats and lots of RNG from traffic but it’s definitely not a hard game to run. I hope more people start running it

Gunpoint was my first speedgame and it's still my favorite. It's easy to pick up and movement is just smooth.

I enjoy the games from the Trials series. Only takes around an hour if you're moderately good with physics based games.

I really enjoy routing games, so once I've routed one I'll speedrun it to show off the route. I don't really dig deep for a WR, and will often move on after the first run with no major mistakes/deaths. The only time I'll try to compete with a time is when there's already an established run, and I notice an improvement to the route. There are just too many games out there to be stuck on one for too long.

Kinda like @ZenicReverie, but i go for wr most of the time. Seeing wr with lots of mistake automatically make me want to wr this game, and i often try to find new route at the same time. I usually switch game when i get the wr, when i'm happy with my time, or when i just reset at each mistake i do.

I would still like to get a main game in the future but I never really liked a game that much, all of my game with more then 100 hours, are multiplayer game with friend or clicker, so yeah, unfortunately, no favourite game yet.

Most enjoyable were lint and dice gorge since there was so much routing to do, but there is not really anything left to do there.

I've just gotten into speedrunning, but I've watched a lot in the past. I love running Zelda A Link to the Past on the SNES. Lots of safety strats for beginners but easily droppable for people looking to lower their times. I've been running LTTP for a little less than a month and already cracked the top 100 in their Any% Master Sword category (whenever their mods approve my run, that is). SNES games in general are most fun for me to watch though simply because of nostalgia...

Deadpool is my favorite because of the different movement options and minimal RNG. Don't care if anyone other than me runs it, when I'm going fast I actually feel fast. More mainstream I like Fusion just because it's not super broken like Zero Mission and it's the first 2d Metroid I played to beat.

I like routing games more than anything though. There's nothing like trying to put together a puzzle like that.

Earthbound Glitchless, because I'm a masochist and I love getting BODIED by RNG.

On a serious note. The game is a very unique choice of a speedrun as it does combine execution and many forms of RNG. For high level runs, you have to consider about 34 minutes of going along a set manipulated route, then have the knowledge to react and perform in unexpected situations (this happens a lot). With spawns being visible in the overworld, there are many possibilities to avoid fights or to surprise those enemies. If you get into an undesired encounter, there is a lot of information and knowledge available to you to react accordingly.

I'm a numbers and information guy, so I like knowing stats, RNG values, and other things to I can memorize them and implement them into my runs. With this all of this, along with menu optimization, quick boss fights, and just overall craziness of the route/run, it's one of my favorite RPGs and speedgames ive ever had the pleasure of running.

The community is pretty okay also. ??
