In luncheon kingdom, there is a stack of 4 goombas that you can just bring over to the life-up heart. By performing a few movements to make the Goomba stack stand on the heart, you can capture then un capture them, causing a time freeze. This is where nothing moves, and you cannot do anything. This would be a softlock. You could in theory perform that with a frog in cap kingdom, which would make softlock% faster.

life up freeze is only possible in 1.0 and you cant do it with a frog because there are no lifeup hearts end discussion

is there not a life up heart in the chest at the end of the frog section? I thought there was but I could be mistaken

Edit: there is a life up heart, but the frog despawns so quick when you uncapture it that there isn't really much you can do with it

You could use 2p to open the chest and place the frog on top of the already spawned lifeup

But then there would need to be a split, 2P and 1P. I think there is a check point (CRC?). But if you do it fast enough maybe. I'll give it a go...

the crc to the top is slower. its not worth the inconsistency anyway it would be faster to go through the frog section

even if you can do it with the top chest heart somehow, i dont think it would be faster anyways

I'm 100% certain that it would be faster, and after trying it on 1.0 the frog definitely despawns too quick to even get close to trying it out. The only way to get it work is to somehow stop the frog from despawning. I don't even know if you can do this glitch with the frog anyways.
