With that logic, TV is the platform for every old console. A TV can connect to a DVD Player just as much as it can connect to a device that takes cartridges or plug n' play devices. I do believe that DVD/Blu-ray player is a more accurate console name.

I think the reason these platforms haven’t been added is because DVD player games tend to be very simplistic and so have been rejected when requested. If you can get a DVD player game accepted to the site, I’m sure they’ll add a DVD player platform for you.
And I agree with @Oxknifer that “DVD player” would probably be the most accurate name for the platform, as some consoles use DVDs for their games.
